I think I would have released this unnecessary double dip before the movie opened and added a free ticket.

It doesn't sound like a substantial improvement over the current release. The only new extras are an introduction by Donner, one deleted scene, the Wes Craven shows his appreciation interview, and a David Seltzer on Writing the Omen featurette. The old commentary with Donner and Baird also looks to have been replaced with this new one with Donner and Helgeland. And no Omen Legacy doc included. I'll have to wait and see what improvements, if any, there are to the transfer.

I heard the Omen Legacy doc is included. According to Fangoria's early review.

The 6/20 date is confusing as hell...

They had TONS of warning about the obvious release date of the remake. And, then there's the obvious significance of this particular 666 Tuesday. And, finally, there's the pretty real possibility that this remake will suck, have one decent week at the box office, and then fall into obscurity.

Why not put out the rejiggered Collector's Edition on 6/6, when you can take advantage of the synergy of the remake and the build-in promotion? Why put it out 2 weeks later, when everyone will have COMPLETELY forgotten about this? The fact that no retailers seem to have a solid sense of what's on this edition 14 days before release is equally confusing. Strange.

I wouldn't say the remake sucks - but as one who has seen it, the remake is completely unnecessary.

Really? Well that would certainly change things then. For me - I don't know - since I already bought the Legacy individual release. But for those who don't have it, it certainly makes the new SE look a little more enticing. I'm still waiting for a good review to tell me what the new transfer looks like.
