well aparently I'm eating my own words, according to the folk over at UltimateDisney the upcoming SE will have a deleted scene, but not the extreme scenes:

Official site for the presumably DVD-only release is up, also firming that Sept. 14th date:

wow! the new remastered edition looks fantastic - granted it's 16X9 enhanced and features a spotless print, the last DVD look like they had used a print that was dragged through mud. The sound also sounds slightly fuller, the mix further emphasizes the soundmixer's decision to use directional voicing where not all the dialogue just comes from the center channel. (Now if Disney Home Video had only released this on bluray - hmmmm)

According to reports I've seen on other sites, this doesn't come with a slip at all. Disney really went cheap-o with this one.
That being said, the pic quality is solid and it's a definite upgrade over the older disc. Disappointed that I may be in for a loooong wait before seeing this on blu.

I'll go with the picture quality over the slip

Re: The Black Cauldron
the deleted scene is a treat considering it's a mixture of storyboards and pencil animation.
other than that - it's very lacking. You can tell Disney even now really undermines this film. I would have loved to have seen the gamut of trailers, advertising, the press releases of the 70mm rollout of this film etc, etc., anything! what?... there's nothing more in the archives related to the making of this film??

Oh yes, I forgot that didn't include the trailer on this DVD.
I don't know why but that really annoys me when studios don't include trailers on rerelease DVDs.
