Does anyone know if these were repackaged as digipacks where all the discs are in one case, or if the movies came in seperate cases. I know the riddick one is not out yet, but thoiugh I'd ask anyway.

My Spike Lee Joint Collection (also a Franchise Collection release from Universal) is done as a digipack with a clear slipcover. Very pretty actually.

I know the Jurassic Park set isn't done like this. I believe it's a digipack with sturdy cardbard and gatefold opening (like the doors to the actual park or something).

Did anyone pick-up the Riddick Trilogy? If so, can you describe the packaging? # discs?

Mummy/Jurassic park sets were a slipcover/outer case with digipacks inside, the kind that are normally attached to a backing like on Quadrilogy or Kingdom of Heaven. They weren't in seperate cases on the inside. IIRC, the Mummy's digipacks were bonded together on one side like the recent Planet of the Apes ultimate set, and Jurassic Park's were on a backing like Alien Quadrilogy.

Are the discs in the new digipacks the same as those in the original releases?

The Riddick Trilogy is a regular amaray case, with a slipcover, except the slipcover is kinda like the Disney Platinum, but it has two flaps. It's really hard to explain. Maybe someone can do a better job.

And whether it includes everything from the original releases?

i'm not a big fan of these triple-movie packages. though easy to buy and store, i kinda like my movies standalone. gives me the false sense that i'm getting more for my money

It's a 2-disc set in a normal sized double amaray case. Disc 1 is Pitch Black Unrated and Dark Fury. Disc 2 is Chronicles of Riddick Unrated.

All the extras seem to be carried over from the individual releases (the unrated releases) including all the featurettes and commentaries. The only difference I could see is no DTS for Pitch Black in the Trilogy set.

The slipcover is open on the top and has a flap on the bottom. The slipcover also flips open to reveal some graphics from the movies (it stays closed with a little velcro dot).

Pretty cool little set in my opinion, kind of nice looking.

Thanks. I got the Mummy set, and its pretty cool (digipak 3 disc set with an awesome cover) I'm going to pick up the Riddick set as well. I'll pass ont he JP set, though. It looks like it doesn't stay closed.
