Inside Man rumored for August release

From dvdactive.com:

Universal Home Video has kindly sent over an early look at artwork for Inside Man which stars Denzel Washington, Clive Owen, and Jodie Foster. I'm afraid Universal has yet to officially announce this one, although we're expecting it to arrive at some point this August. We'll bring you the full details just as soon as they are revealed. For now though, here's our first look at the official region one package artwork:

Ugh. Looks like straight-to-video garbage. A disservice to a fine film.

Such unflattering pictures of the stars!

What was wrong with the one sheet poster?

I missed this film in theatres, but I heard nothing but great things about it. I'll be sure to check it out.

What's wrong with this sheet poster? It's void of Spike Lee's name. Obviously a calculated move on the marketing team's part. It's a shame; especially since it's one of Spike's greatest joints.

Didn't know there was going to be an exclusive Target bonus disc.

Yep - I'll look for it.

I've been going back and forth and target has bonus disc for both Inside Man and Ultimate Avengers 2....Guess that's my stop today....I need to get some BB rewardzone points. They need to step up their offerings.

The Target bonus disc states "over 50 minutes of exclusive content including an in-depth conversation with Denzel and Spike Lee." I haven't watched it yet and probably won't until I watch the film.

Anyone notice on the back it lists DD5.1 and DVS5.1?

DVS? I guess I am behind or something as I've never heard of this before.

I rented it tonight, so whether or not I purchase it will depend on how much I enjoy it. I'll probably watch it later tonight.

Digital Virtual Surround-5.1TM (DVS-5.1TM), a pioneering technology that enables Dolby Digital (Surround AC-3) audio playback from two conventional speakers or headphones, instead of the 5+ speakers normally required.

Any thoughts on the bonus disk? I watched Inside Man as a rental last night and really enjoyed the exchange between Denzel and Spike. How much more of that is there on the exclusives disk?

I watched it the other night and thought it was okay. I had high expectations for it and I ended up being let down by it. I'm glad that I didn't blind-buy it.

It contains an interview with Spike Lee and Denzel Washington talking about a wide array of subjects including Malcolm X losing to Scent of a Women. The interview is great, but it's only 25 minutes of the 50 minutes on the disc. The rest of the disc is devoted to NBC's fall preview . It was only a dollar more than the cheapest price in town (Best Buy), so I'm happy with the purchase.

EDIT: The interview is an expansion from the one included with Inside Man.
