Edison Force ----> 6/11/06

A WTF! moment brought to you by dvdactive.com:

Title: Edison Force
Starring: Justin Timberlake
Released: 11th July 2006
SRP: $24.96

Further Details:

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced Edison Force which stars Justin Timberlake, Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman, LL Cool J and Dylan McDermott. The film is described as an 'intense thriller about an all encompassing network of corruption within a city's justice system that nobody has dared to challenge until now'. The disc will be available to own from the 11th July, and should retail at around $24.96. No further details are available at this time. We've attached the official package artwork below:

One of the worst looking cover art here:

Several questions:
Morgan Freeman and Kevin Spacey in a straight to DVD flick!?
Justin Timberlake? WTF!
Did the people who design this cover just learned how to use photoshop or was this cover done by 8 year olds?
Where the hell this movie came from?
Wow!

1. The original title of the film is Edison.
2. This film was mostly an independent production with financing for the flick coming from various different sources. One of the major backers being Nu-Image Films (sigh).
3. When the film was being test screened, it got negative reviews all across the board. It seems to be cheaper and more cost-effective for Sony to release it straight to DVD without having a major failure and embarassment on their hands.

This also might be the best cast featured in a direct-to-video flick ever. Kevin Spacey? Morgan Freeman? LL Cool J? Dylan McDermott? John Heard? Cary Elews? Roselyn Sanchez? Piper Perabo? Christ o' Mighty. This has really got to be a piece of shit.

Yeah, I've known about this movie for a while but thats cause I'm a Justin fan. But I've heard that it was a good movie but then I heard its a bad movie. So I have no idea. I'll more than likely buy it just cause it is Justin and I also like LL Cool J as an actor but we will see. Actually I'm just glad they are releasing it all. There for a while I didn't think it was going to be released in any way.

Isn't that line "No one is above the law" taken from Cop Land?
