I doubt it.

Which is good, because then, it would be reduced to being just a movie.

They're holding out over the commentary. So far the only ones who have signed on Bartholomew and Phillip. Judas wants to be compensated to make up for what he believes was a misrepresentation of himself in the film. Peter has essentially denied the entire project, having moved on to theater.

And Jesus - while he respects the work he put into it - he wants to focus on the future and not revisit the past. I can't remember the blog where I saw it, but the quote was something like, "Ya know, that was a challenging film; it really stretched me. I got along well with the director, and the screenwriter really did a fantastic job. But that was a different time and place. Right now, I'm really just wanting to concentrate on some of my upcoming work."

This is one of those titles that we had heard about a SE that was supposed to come out, but it hasn't yet. IIRC many people on the forum held off on buying it because of this. These surefire upcoming double-dips sometimes aren't so surefire after all.

Actually, there is a new Christian bookstore-only edition. It comes in a tin case (like the Donnie Darko DC Hot Topic tin), and has a witnessing tract and some sort of keepsake with it.

However, I've only seen it in fullscreen.

It's not limited to Christian book stores. I saw it at Sam's Club.

Why feel sad? And Have you shared any Help or Info before sharing your thoughts of Sadness?

Dude, 15minutes prior to your post someone shared an information/help about The Passion's other releases.

To date, the only other released edition of the Passion was the "Christian Limited TIN" Edition Passion of the Christ

Yes, you are correct about the Limited Edition Passion sold only to selected Christian Stores.

Below is the actual photo of the said

Yeah, and it looked pretty nice. Until the whole "Full Screen Only" part.

I've also seen the Limited Edition Tin at Sam's Club, It came with some sort of pocket sctripture and necklace (or something), I was going to pick it up just cause I thought the tin was cool, but all dozen copies or so were fullscreen.

Does anyone know if it's even available in widescreen?

And from what I could tell the DVD itself is exactly the same.

The only reason I have held off on this, is because this is a film where Extras greatly matter to me. I also hope it will come with bother versions of the film. I also would love comentaries from Mel Gibson, as well as some promient evangelicals...such as Rick Warren of Saddleback Church.

I don't think I'd ever double dip on this. I love the movie but have never watched it on DVD. I still have it in plastic wrap. I've just never felt the urge to re-watch it.
