I was a little peeved about the Buffy set because I had bought all 7 seasons, but I had just started watching Alias and held off when I heard about the complete series set and am now glad about it.

That looks sweet! Too bad I won't be buying it since I am not interested in the series

I have the first four seasons already, so I am going to pass on the series box set.

I am glad that I passed up on buying the Buffy sets. The Buffy Series box set is sweet and I picked it up for 230 bucks Canadian.

I will very possibly pickup the complete series even though I have all of the current seasons. Reason being, that release date is very possibly going to be during the DDD 20% sale, based on prior sales dates (could be wrong, but I think thats right). So if I can get it for around $120 like the Buffy set was last year, and can sell my previous 4 seasons for $20-25 a piece, I will be getting the complete series set for not much more than I would have paid for S5 alone.

That's what I did with Buffy and may do with Alias. I think I only have the first two seasons of Alias, making it even more tempting.

I'm hoping to do the same thing. I think the Rambaldi box looks cool :)

$139.99 at Amazon. 11/21 release date.

is it good

Autotelik 08-01-06 09:21 PM

hmmmmm very tempting since I don't own any seasons and did enjoy watching this show despite some lackluster episodes midway through the series. Might be a big dent in my wallet though, since I'm also planning to get the complete Six Feet Under box as well.

Looks great if you ask me, I might have to pick it up. Hopefully it is released during the 20% off sale at DDD. If not that $139 price at amazon is pretty good.

Wait, are those discs in a sleeve inside the case? Ie, scratch heaven? Gotta say, if thats the case, I might pass on this after all. Hopefully thats not the case, but it really looks like it.

After keeping things in binders for awhile I have to say the risk of scratches from doing so seems to be over rated. Maybe I've just been lucky so, or maybe I haven't tried one of the one that has been scratched yet... Personally I like the look of this set and will probably pick it up, but each to their own.

Gosh darn...i already have seasons 1 - 4. WhY????

It also looks like the box is held together just by the lid. Reminds me of the Hellraiser UK limited edition cube packaging which ended up falling apart quite easily.

Cool looking box, I just wish I could have withheld buying the individual seasons...but who wants to wait when a series was that good.

MONEY, I thought we covered this in the the Saw II uncut release.

kallen 08-09-06 10:23 PM

It's already sold out! I got mine anyway!

Doh! Didn't realize this was a limited release :( Oh well.... missed out on this one.

Engel07 08-09-06 10:47 PM

Don't worry. They'll make more....just like Scarface boxset when it was soldout before day 1. Amazon is not taking anymore pre-orders, but other places are taking them.

I just pre-ordered a copy from CDUniverse.com; it was only 8 bucks higher than Amazon's price. When/if Amazon gets it in stock, I can always cancel the pre-order with CDU and re-order with Amazon.

i don't understand why DDD's price is considerably higher than Amazon's for this one...

That's nothing compared to Best Buy's price, which is $220.
