Here's to hoping the set is the same quality as Season 1 w/ the great extra's, etc.! A Must buy for me....

Artman 04-27-06 01:14 PM

I guess a BR release is out of the question eh?...

I'll probably pick it up if it's the right price...

DaTimster 04-27-06 01:44 PM

My wife already knows it's on my Christmas list every year for the duration of the show . . .

clappj 04-27-06 02:37 PM

Will the second season have finished up on ABC before then?

;)

Shagrath 04-27-06 05:26 PM

Sweet! I don't watch this on TV, but enjoyed the first season dvds immensely.. Can't wait to watch this!

critterdvd 04-27-06 06:24 PM

I missed the second through fifth episode of the second season on TV, and didn't know what the hell was going on when i attempted to watch episode six, so I've been waiting a LONG time for these!!! Can't Wait!

asianxcore 04-27-06 07:46 PM

awesome.

I didn't watch a single episode of Season 2 so I'll be looking forward to this.

EdTheRipper 04-27-06 09:44 PM

Looking forward to this.

KatSagirl 04-28-06 01:10 AM

i'm looking forward to this. i skipped half the season already because of how lame ABC is with the show. they take way too many breaks.

Ew at the cover. Pushing this back to October 3rd has to mean the start of the season will be after then too. It would be utterly STUPID to release this AFTER the next season had started.

This is ABC though.

speedy1961 04-29-06 04:55 PM

Great news!

Cover is just temporary. ABC probably will air the season later this year in order to minimize delays between episodes.

BeeLineTooHive 04-30-06 06:44 AM

cant wait to get S1 and S2 by then I hope

Can't say I'd be offended by this decision in the least. Hope it is true.

Kenshiro 04-30-06 11:10 AM

Hopefully ABC will wait until '07 and air a non-stop third season, which FOX has done with 24 the past two seasons.

It would only increase the popularity of this juggernaut.

mzupeman2 05-02-06 07:09 AM

Well, speculation aside about when the next season will air and if they're going to stop taking such huge breaks which is really ruining the suspense of the show week to week... I'd have to say that this is a purchase for me hands down. LOVE LOVE LOVE this show, but hopefully there's some better artwork coming because that looks awful.

FatTony 05-02-06 03:32 PM

I'm thinking with a release date of October 3rd, they might start the season around there. Though, it seems the smarter thing to do would be to wait until November to start so the beginning of the season will fall in line with sweeps.

Anyway, more info up on TVShowsOnDVD.

DaTimster 05-03-06 08:55 AM

I believe I had read on a LOST fansite that ABC was going to start Season 3 later in order to cut down on the lengthy breaks. The producers of the show know that the fans are agitated about it and wanted to try to alleviate it.

M Polo 05-03-06 09:42 AM

Guaranteed buy and I would definitely be one that would appreciate less breaks.

jmj713 05-03-06 04:13 PM

The first season had like three different bonus discs that I remember (Best Buy, TV Guide, and the companion book). I wonder if we'll get something like this this season too - though I'd prefer not to hunt for bonus discs, myself.

dx23 05-03-06 08:18 PM

I doubt they wait til January because this is their # 1 show in revenue (number 3 in ratings), but they will probably start later (mid october) and end earlier (april?) and add a few more recap episodes to not have as many reruns... atleast that was the plan in their press release awhile ago "if" the show came back.

Also, of note, DVDANSWERS has revised artwork and some menu shots that reveal three commentaries:

"Man of Science, Man of Faith" with Executive Producers Damon Lindelof, Carlton Cruse, Bryan Burker, and Jack Bender

"What Kate Did" with Director Paul Edwards, Director of Photography Michael Bonvillain, and co-star Evangeline Lilly

"The Whole Truth" with co-stars Yunjun Kim and DAniel Dae Kim along with writers Elizabeth Sarnoff and Christina M. Kim

mzupeman2 05-04-06 05:44 AM

Well I wanted to wait until DVD but didn't because of all of the breaks. They air in HD so I couldn't resist. Can't wait to finally see all these episodes back to back.

Simpson Purist 05-04-06 10:37 AM

Chalk this one up as an a instant buy for me, I greatly enjoyed the first season and can't wait to see the second season on DVD. I saw some episodes of season 2, but like most people I was discouraged by the intermittent scheduling of the episodes.

With two recap episodes this season, that almost guarantees two bonus discs.

I hope they're all included. Can't wait!!

woemcats 05-07-06 02:28 PM

The fact that menu screens are already out probably means there won't be any commentaries for the latter part of the season again. Somehow when Alias S1 came out in Sept. before Season 2 they were able to comment on the finale, but not so with Lost and Alias S4.

critterdvd 05-07-06 04:21 PM

Somehow when Alias S1 came out in Sept. before Season 2
Season 1 of Alias came out a little less than a month before the premier of the 3rd season, not the second. The Second season was released on DVD in Dec of the same year (only 3 months after season 1).

And you never know about commentaries on the last couple of episodes, 'Desperate Housewives Season 1' came out sept. 20 and they had a commentary on the last episode.

cupcake jesus 05-07-06 05:49 PM

"The Whole Truth" seems like an odd episode to choose for a commentary - the vast majority of the episode was kind of boring, as I remember. It won't stop me from buying this, though.

cheers,

-the Jesus

New release date Oct. 3rd according to davisdvd.com.

TheMovieman 05-15-06 01:13 PM

Well, I won;t be buying it from Amazon... they're apparently sticking with the full retail price on Disney DVDs. A-holes.

Staying on topic, if the price is low enough, I'll probably pick this up as the features on season 1 were great.

critterdvd 06-12-06 12:24 PM

There wasn't any reason to anyway, as BB/Target/WM are certain to have exclusives.

critterdvd 06-12-06 04:12 PM

Is there any information as to which episodes have commentaries?

hardercore 06-12-06 05:16 PM

Season 3 is now going to Premiere at the end of September once more, so the DVD release has been pushed forward to the beginning of September.

As far as I know ... 2.01 "Man of Science, Man of Faith", 2.09 "What Kate Did", 2.16 "The Whole Truth". Matthew Fox doesn't participate in the first one but Evangeline Lilly, Yunjin Kim and Daniel Dae Kim contribute to their respective episodes. There is word going around that there might be a 2.18 "Dave" commentary but that is not confirmed.

woemcats 06-12-06 09:28 PM

I'd really like commentaries for shows like ? or especially Live Together, Die Alone, the mythology-heavy ones.
