Bad Taste: Limited Edition

I just bought a copy of Bad Taste: Limited Edition, brand new, and it doesn't have a limited edition number on the back. I thought these were supposed to be limited to 50,000 copies. Did they just forget to put my number on the packaging or was it later re-released without limited edition numbers?

Was yours packaged like this? (courtesy of dvdcompare)
Packaged in a digi-pack gatefold with holographic cover and plastic slip-case.

The normal edition is just an amaray case, so there should be a difference. All the pictures I've seen of the LE had the number on the back, so it sounds like you got the non LE.

Mine has a big white area on the back with "20812 /50,000" printed on it.

If it's the one disc set then its not the limited edition. The 2-disc set is the limited one.

If it is not a lenticular cover packaging then it is not a limited edition

On mine (22,204/50,000) the number is printed on a white sticker on the back of the cover. If you bought a used copy, maybe somebody pealed the sticker off yours.

yes, mine has a sticker as well. if someone took yours off, well, that would negate the coolness factor by 10.

It is the limited edition in the digipak w/ clear slipcase, not the single disc edition in the amaray case. It was brand new too, even had the sticker on the front of the packaging indicating that it's not for children and another on the back listing the special features - so it was not re-shrink-wrapped. My friend has one with a number, so I know where it should go; it's just weird that it would not have one.

hmmm seems like a lot of work to make a bootleg. Maybe they just forgot? Mine had a number on it.

Hmm, so I guess it was just some freak manufacturing error. I guess it's not a huge problem, just kind of disappointing.

Now you can put your own number on it. Something like 00,001/50,000. BuyItNow for $1000 on fLeaBay. Not that I would ever do anything like that... nooooo.

Aw, they missed the opportunity to call it "The Gourmand Edition", or something like that.

Just seeing this post takes me back to 1989 and watching this in Sean Wilson's basement with John Kyre, Dennis Holt, and Joe Terranova. You were there too I believe Jeff.

If they release this in HD, do you think it will bring the value down?

If HD has caught on enough to get to the point where they're releasing titles like this, I would say, yes, the value will probably go down. [Assuming you mean "value" as in how much people will pay for it; its value to me won't go down, and I think it would be very low on my upgrade list.] If the HD version didn't include the doc [which, I always like to point out, is one of the most inspiring "making-of" docs ever], I suppose it's possible that there would still be some value to this disc.

No kidding. It's been out for quite a while and obviously there are people who are still buying the limited edition brand new.
