24 Season 5 Box Survey

I got an email from Fox with a link to a survey for Season 5's cover art.

http://www.foxhome.com/24survey/choose.html

Honestly none of them impress me. Fox also mentions they are considering switching from a digipack to thinpacks.

The email said that completing the survey enters you to win the first four seasons. Plus they give you a $5 coupon off foxstore.com which is useless to me given their prices.

They're all awful. I voted for the last one, as it's the least offensive to my eyes.

I agree 100% but switching to thinpacks would suck because it won't match the other 4 seasons

I like the first one. This means that it has no chance of being selected. Darn it.

I wouldn't mind if they switched. The current sets are a bit long so it is ok with me.

I voted for #4 (the red-toned one with the largest photo of Jack and the "24" logo.)

I also voted for thin cases. I hate Digipaks almost as much as snappers. I'd prefer the more durable package that saves shelf space, rather than worry about it not conforming with the previous sets.

I don't like how any of the box arts match up with the previous seasons.

Why even put Tony on the front of #3? He was barely in the season.

True, but I think it is more about layout vs. actual finished design. I voted 3. I think R2 is similar to that. Doesn't match previous seasons, but wth Why not?

Image #3 is actually the R2 Season Four box art. You can see all four R2 sets here.

One thing I like about images #2 and #3 is that they utilize the show's title logo in it's original "digital readout." All the R2 sets have been this way. I also like how the covers feature a composite design of photos -- evoking the split-screen effect used on the show.

The R1 Season One set was the only one to use the original "digital" logo. For some reason, the other seasons changed to that silver "24" in the circle graphic. I prefer the original.

BTW, I was wondering... is Keifer/Jack ambidextrous? These covers, and the other R1 sets, show him using his gun with alternating hands (most often his right.) If he's not, then someone has reversed several photos when designing these covers. Sometimes this is done for compositional effect -- while hoping nobody notices.

I picked #1. Sadly, I could see them switching to thinpacks since retailers and most consumers will want those (takes up less space).

I would voted for the slim-pack and would love to see them re-issue the previous seasons in slim-packaging ala X-FILES.

Am I the only person on earth that HATES thinpaks? I'd MUCH rather have a digipack any day of the week...I can't stand the slim cases.

If they kept the 7 disc format, they'd match in package thickness. The old sets can't be displayed spine out anyway, it's the same artwork on both sides.

I like 2, personally, but I sold my "24" sets. It's almost a pointless series to own. Granted, I watch it religiously, making sure I have every Monday night off of work, but you can't exactly watch one episode on DVD every once in a while, realistically. Well, I can't anyway.

I prefer the thinpacks even though it won't match the previous 4 seasons...

As for the covers, I personally would like to see number 4 or possibly new choices to choose from

Four is the closest design-wise to the previous seasons... though I picked #2. Voted for thinpacks as well.

I went 5, 4, 1, 2, 3 and chose slim cases. I'm getting to the point where shelf space is more important. Plus, its a hell of a lot easier to grab just the one disk you want to watch.

Thinpaks aren't my case of choice, however, I don't mind if they use them from the start (Family Guy, for instance). However, if a TV show starts off as digpacks, I'd like them to at least offer that as a packaging choice (ala Simpsons) for the entire run.

Thank you to the a-hole(Snowmaker) who gave a spoiler regarding a character. Most people watchg this show when it comes on DVD...not on TV when it originally aires, so thanks for that. Please refrain from anything else except what the title is regarding which is the cover art for season 5....thank you!

Says who? If that's the case, people who haven't even seen the season yet shouldn't be venturing into a thread that pertains to it, especially given prominent characters are probably featured on the cover.

It wasn't even that much of a spoiler anyways.
