Which WB set excites you most for 2006?
WB still isn't finshed with releasing classic boxed sets for 2006. wHich one will you be buying or excites you the most?
-spencer tracy -rooney & garland -taylor & burton -astaire & rogers volume 2 -forbidden hollywood -gary cooper -marlon brando -humphrey bogart -film noir volume 4 -james stewart and maybe jean harlow. wb said if not late 2006, then early 2007. |
Excites me how?
Forbidden Hollywood..... ;) |
Film noir...
|
Film Noir and Gangsters. Oh, and the Bogart depending on what's on it.
Anyone know if they're planning a second set of classic comedies? |
Bogart and Jean Harlow. God I hope they do the Harlow one.
|
You forgot the Tough Guys Collection. That's the one I'm most looking forward to. From your list, I'd pick Bogart.
|
If the Bogie set is basically a line-up of SEs w/ the Maltese Falcon and African Queen, then ... yeah, that one.
|
The John Wayne-John Ford Collection, of the ones which have been announced.
Astaire & Rogers Collection: Volume 2, of those which are still rumored. |
won't they be doing the new "Superman" Super-Duper Set? that is the one i am salivating for...
|
The upcoming 14-disc Superman set for me too.
I think they're releasing a Bette Davis set too, but the only one I want from it is the 2-disc SE of Whatever Happened to Baby Jane... Rob |
I'm looking forward to several of the, but particularly the Gable and Ford/Wayne boxes—and the Jean Harlow set, if it comes this year.
|
There's a Tennessee Williams set coming out in a couple weeks too.

There's also a Bogie & Bacall set due, including a new version of "The Big Sleep", which I am looking forward to.

I'm saving my pennies for Mr Ford and Mr Wayne... |
Didn't WB mention that Forbidden Planet is coming in Oct and will also be part of a classic sci-fi set? I'm looking forward to a lot of these, but will be very curious about that one . . .
|
WB keeps me in a constant state of arousel - of those listed in the OP, the Astaire & Rogers is probably my most anticipated.
