I second this. It is the only way I will ever buy many of the shows I want. The replaced music, the syndicated cuts, all the other little alterations--what once seemed like such a great idea has become grossly sub par. I don't expect these modifications will ever be rectified, in high definition or anything else. But without episodes of TV series preserved in their original broadcast versions, re-releases in high definition mean nothing to me.
