True - but Reefer Madness had more colorization jokes than the other releases. Since then, he has cut down the number of references to colorization, and so Legend has been able to include the commentary on both versions more easily. "House on Haunted Hill" had one extremely subtle reference to the colorization ("I tried to get your gun in pink, but no go." - Nora's dress was pink in the colorized version). "Plan 9" only has one colorization joke, but it makes no sense for the black and white version ("...or does our goofy pink house get you down?")

How can a movie be ruined by optional extras?

Uh-huh. I'm guessing you've never heard any of them, have you?

The colorization on all of these releases is excellent.

Is this sarcasm? I don't think you've ever seen anything pertaining to Monty Python, either, because you obviously don't have the sense of humor required to find things such as Monty Python's Flying Circus and Mystery Science Theater 3000 funny. :notrolls:

Night of the Living Dead? Yes.

Carnival of Souls? No.

All of Mike's commentaries are good, but check out the commentaries on "Reefer Madness," "House on Haunted Hill," and "Plan 9 from Outer Space." Those are the best.

Personally, I like both "Night of the Living Dead" and "Carnival of Souls". Both are great indie films with atmosphere to spare. Can't comment on their colorization since I have no desire to watch them that way. I have been tempted by the Mike Nelson commentaries, but I've double-dipped enough in this life so far.

The colorization on both of those releases is excellent, as are the commentaries.

I still need to get Plan 9. At least they are making them faster than I can get them instead of catching them all and then waiting for new ones to be born.

That Black & White shot looks great. And it's great to see the "Play in Black & White" option is now at the Main Menu instead of hidden in the Special Features like previous releases.

They also did this for "Plan 9 from Outer Space," and the Abbott & Costello film "Africa Screams".

Ah. Didn't pick those up. Good to see both versions easily available.

Looks like those Mike Nelson commentaries won't be ending anytime soon.
From MST3Kinfo.com
MIKE NAMED PRODUCER AT LEGEND FILMS
Legend Films has appointed Michael J. Nelson as Chief Content Producer. Nelson will be responsible for building and leading the company's creative content, providing on-going commentaries and developing other premium web-based programming.

"Mike Nelson is an outstanding addition to Legend Films," said David G. Martin, CEO of Legend Films. "His experience, vision and skills will be an important asset to the company as we continue to build our entertainment library."

Mike Nelson has had a long relationship with Legend Films, providing audio commentaries and video wraparounds on movies such as The Three Stooges In Color, House on Haunted Hill, Night of the Living Dead, Reefer Madness, Plan 9 From Outer Space and The Little Shop of Horrors.

"I'm very excited. Legend Films is such a great fit for me -- talented people who consistently put out a great product. Plus there are Flaming Hot Cheetos in the lunch room vending machine. That made it an easy choice to join the team," enthused Nelson.

Re: The Little Shop of Horrors - May 1st

Had a question relating to this movie on DVD so I thought I'd bump this old thread rather than make a new one.
Anyway, I recently saw this movie for the first time and enjoyed. I'm going to be picking up Legend's Blu of it, but I was wondering if any other DVDs had special features pertaining to the film. According to DVD Compare, there's a Madacy release that has a newsreel and blooper reel, can anyone tell me if they are any good? Any other releases have special features?
