I really doubt that the Target comic is the complete graphic novel (which retails for $20, and is over 200 pages long).

If anything, it's probably just a special reprint of V for Vendetta #1. The series ran for ten issues under DC Comics. So if that is the case, then it would be like getting the first chapter of a novel.

Turkeys. Way to blow a promotion to save 50 cents on plastic.

I have noticed that Warner's two-tiered releases (The Phantom of the Opera, Batman Begins, The Polar Express, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and now this) don't have commentaries. I think there's a possibility that they're leaving them off intentionally so that the 2-disc versions have most (if not all) of the extras. That way, more people will be inclined to spend the extra money, whereas if the single-disc version had commentary, that may be enough bonus content for some.

Makes sense, thanks. I didn't know how many issues were made of the series or how thick the graphic novel would be. Figured I'd ask

Yeah, I doubt it too. But it might be the complete graphic novel that comes with it, since it only retails for $12 at Target nowadays. But on the other hand, I don't see how they would package it with the dvd....Guess we'll see tomorrow!

Chronicles of Narnia, Batman Begins, and Star Wars Ep. III were all tossed around with exclusive extras to a presistent degree. But not with a schnazzy box w/ mask.

Who cares about shelf space when you're getting an actual size replica mask?

Okay, a dumb question, I'm sure, but...the 2-disc is being sold at Circuit City, isn't it? It appears on their web site, but there was no mention of it in the weekly ad. I'm tempted by that lithograph, but not if it means being limited to the single-disc release.

CC is carrying the 2-disc version. It is tagged at $24.99, but I would assume it will be $22.99 since that's what Harry Potter 4, Batman Begins, and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory were priced at for the 2-disc set.

most likely Begins, Charlie & V's commentaries will be on the HD-DVD versions.

I just ordered the Best Buy Collector's set for in-store pickup. I haven't seen the movie yet, but I'm thinking that if I don't like it I can still display the mask in honor of the comic series. It's my favorite Alan Moore title behind Watchmen and From Hell. Not far behind, mind you.

I'm one of the freaks that would give top dollar for this movie just for the Portman Schoolgirl scene.

Just picked my copy up on the way to work. This lenticular cover is pretty cool, much better than that crappy FD3 one last week.
The cover is the movie poster with V holding the dagger in the left corner, with Natalie Portman beside the dagger and the V in the circle symbol partially hidden in the background.
Tilt the cover, and the background turns black and the V symbol appears dripping down the cover.
Tilt it again and the V symbol bursts into flames.
Very well done.
Plus the comic book included reprints issues 1-2, so it's a nice bonus.
One other nice thing I noticed for those who care-- the slipcase does NOT have a hole cut out for the UPC code, which I appreciate.

The only "exclusive" I saw at Wal-Mart was a Single Disc V for Vendetta packed with the Animatrix for $19.99 with a "Wal-Mart Exclusive" sticker slapped on it. If there's an actual VFV bonus disc at Wal-Mart, I must've missed it..
