So... anybody gotten this?
The DVD Savant review is up with a "rent it": http://www.dvdtalk.com/dvdsavant/s1905werc.html?___rd=1
I was kind of surprised. I'd love to see the movie, and want to hear a more explicit answer to the question, "Did Facets screw it up like usual?" Any input is appreciated.

Well not to degrade DVD Savant because I always like reading him but he seemed to just be to mystified by Werckmeister Harmonies to review it very well as a film and most likely by video quality.
According to this review at Slant Magazine the video quality is atrocious..http://www.slantmagazine.com/dvd/dvd_review.asp?ID=871
Their comments on Audio and Video as you can see are as follows..
The disc's image suggests the print was beaten to a pulp by the film's angry mob. Detail is practically nonexistent and the pixel-ridden blacks almost make it impossible to make out anything that transpires on screen—Lars Rudolph's fleeing near the end of the film is especially embarrassing. Save for the dubbed dialogue, audio is hollow-sounding, as if it had been recorded inside a tin can.
So, that sounds pretty bad. I am glad I purchased the R2 from AE with Damnation when it was on sale a few months ago.

I noted in another thread but here it is one more time...soon I will have the English friendly Hungarian releases that supposedly have the best quality to compare to AE. It might be worth it if you waited a bit. Covers are also much better:
