Best direct to dvd sequel

Been watching them lately I liked these three the most Swf 2 was my favorite because the chicks were incredibly hot:
The Net 2.0
Single White Female 2
8MM2

Although nothing even close to the original in quality, humor, and tone, I thought Starship Troopers 2 was OK.

Vampires: Los Muertos with rocker Jon Bon Jovi as vampire hunter Derek Bliss was a good DTV sequel. IMO, it was better than the first film, but that's probably just me. Anybody else like it better than the original film?

The only direct to dvd sequel that I was able to finish was Lion King 1.5, so I guess that would have to be my pick.

I'd have to second the nomination of Lion King 1.5. I haven't seen many direct to video sequels, though. I have the 2 sequels to Vampires, but I haven't watched them yet.

As for 8MM2.... shouldn't a film be at least distantly related to the previous one to be considered a sequel? Pretty much every review I've read that mentions the first film only brings it up to point out how the only thing the sequel shares with it is the name.

I'll throw in From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter, mainly for Michael Parks' performance as Ambrose Bierce.

Same here. Dusk till Dawn 3 is great

But I don't like Vampires Los Muertos. I still like the original.

I really enjoyed Bambi 2. I am so glad they made it.

Do the Ginger Snaps sequels count? I don't think they were released in the theaters in the US. If so, part 2 and 3 also get love from me.

I don't really count Ginger Snaps 2 and 3 as direct to video because they were in theaters, just not in the US to my knowledge. And just for the records all three of those films are awesome!

I actually thought that Disney's "Return to Neverland" and the third Aladdin, the one where he finds his father "Prince of Thieves", I think it was called, were pretty good!

I think I would go with From Dusk til Dawn 2 (that one doesn't get much love, does it?) and Lion King 1.5.

Sniper 2 wasn't bad. Stay away from Part 3, though. A total stinker. Tom Berenger looks like he's about 75 pounds overweight and on the verge of a heart-attack. Really embarrassing.

I don't think I've ever finished a DTV sequel. I usually stay away from most of them.

Damnit you beat me to it.
Oh well i enjoyed Tremors 3 as well, so i'll say that one. Cant say too much about the fourth one though, other than it was somewhat entertaining to watch.

Horrid, lame sequels. The 1st film was pretty darn good, the 2nd one ok, but after that it got old really fast. I loved the 1st film and want to upgrade, but I ain't buying that boxset with all these stupid sequels on it. No way they get my money for the other ones.
