As for the aforementioned extras, these weren't on the original release; *The Real Napoleon Dynamite Doc. *Napoleon Sightings *ESPN & TRL Promos *SNL opening w/ Jon Heder *MTV Movie Awards Clips *Cartoon Network's Napoleon Bonomite *Teen Choice Awards Clips The only MTV Movie Awards clip available on DVD was Napoleon as Batman on the "Batman Begins" 2 Disc SE, and that clip was fucking GOLD. I'd love to have the rest on DVD. Promos like this are fantastic extras, especially in a package like this. Cover art sucks, though... Even the original Napoleon Dynamite DVD I wouldn't really call filler. The original short film was cool to have, and the deleted scenes were great. The documentary and the sightings features could be something worthwhile, but I could live without having the rest of the stuff. And agreed on the cover. |
I'll stick with the original release. The new extra features aren't substantial enough to reconcile an upgrade.

According to the disc's producer (David Prior) on HTF, there's going to be more deleted scenes on this release (including the ones already included on the first go-around). Also, the two documentaries on the DVD will total almost 80 minutes.

I might get this because I loved Jon Heder's appearance on SNL (and as long as all of the features from the original are transferred to the new set). But since it isn't a flipper anymore, I'm probably going to.

I went for the CircuitCity and BestBuy Limited Set...

If you ask me.. the best among the Exclusive Limited Edition Releases.. I Say the winner would be the Circuit City Sweet Limited Edition GiftSet |
The bobble heads are kind of cool, but for $20 extra I don't know. I'm probably just grabbing the DVD set for $15 at Circuit City and being done with it.
