This is what imdb.com has listed as cut from the R rated version. Expect more graphic violence

the Hotel Shootout: This scene has a cut about 7 seconds, showing bloody bullet hits, when the two brothers are hanging on the rope.
Rocco shoots the Mafia-Guys in the bar: The headshot and the shot in the chest are cut away on the DVD. You only see the blood coming out of the back of the bench.
Shoot out in the pool-room: one scene is cut which shows several bullet hits in the body of the guy who opens the door.
Poolroom shootout: The guy that's holding the phone, standing in the back left corner gets shot twice. The second bullet hit is cut out from the US DVD.

"accidently" killing the cat
but the movie isn't anything terrible, but if you're expecting a tarantino style of movie, you will be disapointed

I bought the first DVD, thought it was good enough. I'm definitely not double-dipping and I doubt I'll ever watch the DVD I have again.

I'll be double dipping for this. Cover is awesome compared to the first release.

I'll also be picking it up. As others have mentioned, I'm also keen to check out the commentary especially after viewing Overnight.

In, been waiting a while for this one.

I know alot of people find this movie to be over-hyped but I'd have to say atleast rent if for no other reason than to see Willem Dafoe at his best. He is outstanding in this movie....

Why? Because it's gotten releases in multiple countries? The Evil Dead series has seen multiple US re-releases. This is only the first double-dip on this title in R1 (well, America at least). Certainly not comparable to Evil Dead, in my opinion.

I'll also second the high praises for "Overnight."

hey, relax. it's one of my favorite movies, obviously, or i wouldn't have gone to the trouble of spending $40 for the R2 two disc two weeks ago. it was a joke.

I'm quite relaxed...just pointing out that the two films' histories in the R1 DVD format aren't at all similar.

Mine showed up about 3 weeks ago from a friend in Holland.

At least we can hold onto the fact that we get the full bitrate DTS track though, right?

Watch out! I was clinically diagnosed with PTSD after seeing Willem DaFoe in a dress.

Mighty fine looking cover, with all the useless double dipping going on these days, this was a much needed one. I am all for an upgrade. William Dafoe was outstanding in this.

Cover art looks good, but I wish I would have saw Overnight first, maybe then I mimght have enjoyed BS. While I am no fan of the movie, it's good to see a better version come out for the fans of the movie.

Did Duffy get some $$$$$$ for the commentary? It was my understanding that his original deal didn't include any profits from the DVD, where it made it's money,

This is one of my favorites too. Does anyone have an update on the sequel?

You have absolutely nothing to be pissed about. I too have the Scanbox version .. it's uncut and full bitrate DTS, unlike the DD-EX track on the upcoming R1 version. And it sounds amazing!! Thanks, but you already have best available version to date .. and will remain to even after the upcoming release.

The only differences warranting an upgrade would be for those that care about the extras or stuck in R1 land (which is cool too ). Extras aren't a necessary option on my behalf, so I probably won't triple dip for this title. Though, one never knows ... the cover is pretty slick.

I wonder how this movie would have turned out if Duffy would not have acted like an asshole.
