It really depends on what you like. Personally I'll give up a few extra's to get better sound. To me the DTS for all the JP's sounded much better.
JP3 is one that really stands out. Listen to the Spinosaurus attack on the plane in both....you'll hear a difference

so does anyone have both or had at some point and can really hear a discernable difference?
i have the DD, but just thought a movie like this would benefit greatly from DTS, especially in the bass department.

I'm wondering that too. I've got the DD5.1 and have wondered if there is a clear difference between the two.

The first Jurassic Park DTS DVD is still one of my favorite demo disc. Especially when the T-Rex stomps his foot into the mud. Oh my!

To my understanding, the "corrected" DTS track was simply to satisify those craving more bass --- as it has more bass than the original DTS and DD. However, the DD version is what was really intended and more accurate.

Me neither. At this point, I'll stick with my non-DTS LD and wait for the HDDVD version. Whoops. I just realized this is a Sony title so it will be Blu Ray. Damn.

I would bet the best sound would be the DTS laserdisc, but I have the DD DVD for now and this is one that I probably will replace in the next couple of years with BD or HD-DVD so I am not going hunting for the DTS DVD.
