Re: The Wonder Years is in the works!
I'm glad I didn't grab the complete Chin Beach set last year. I wanted to support the company, and their efforts getting the music cleared. But ultimately it was just too extravagant an outlay for a show I was curious about but never watched.
Life went on and before I realized it the single season sets started to come out (w/extras). I've got the 3rd season pre-ordered and my total bill so far for the 3 (out of four) seasons is under $50.
Same will happen with WY...eventually. Congrats to the hardcore fans though.

Same thing with Get Smart. It was originally only available as an expensive complete series set, but now each individual season is available separately at a much lower per-season price.

Re: The Wonder Years is in the works!
Holy shit... Even with WB confirming that Batman's getting released this year, I still had genuinely given up hope that this would get a DVD release, especially this late into the game.
This, along with Twin Peaks on Blu-Ray and Batman, has become my most anticipated release this year...

Since you mentioned Batman though, we still haven't seen an official confirmation for that one.

I know - I picked up all of the seasons for $9.99 each or less (I got one of those 2 season bundles at Target for less than $20).

Except that it is actually from the people releasing the set. Not some picture from some second rate comic. What is so hard about that for you to understand?

I actually did. I commented on the show and also your comment. I believe it was you who had to put the little sarcastic comment in there first. So yeah maybe take your own advice.

For sure, like I mentioned before I don't believe I've ever seen all the episodes of the show but caught it here and there and always thought it seemed really well done. I'll consider buying it on DVD but I might wait for the show to come out in season sets depending what the price is for the whole set.

Is this still available to stream on Netflix?

Yup, all 6 seasons are still there.
I'm looking forward to hearing about the extras. If there are commentary tracks with the cast like Savage, McKeller and the producers along with the usual documentaries, then I will most definitely get this despite the presumed hefty price tag.
I bought the 6 Million Dollar Man set from Time Life and it's a fantastic set. I'm sure this will kickass as well.

Yeah I usually sort of assume that with most shows that there will be bad episodes along with the good episodes. The majority of what I've seen though the show seems like it's at least worth watching.

Thanks, whotony, that's nice.
With Wonder Years, the disparity in quality between one episode and the next can be quite jarring. A few episodes are downright brilliant or close (e.g., everything involving Mr. Collins; pottery; Dad's workplace; "mother of all parties"; first day of high school; et al), while many others are run-of-the-mill, annoying, or otiose (everything involving Becky Slater; the "cave" episode; school trip to museum; walk to slumber party; et al).

Take my own advice? My comment was about the topic at hand. YOU are the one that went off topic by bringing up a completely different title entirely.

This is day one purchase for me. I have been waiting far too long and I'm ecstatic that it will have most of the music intact.
I was able to get the complete set for Get Smart for $35 Canadian at Amazon.ca this past Christmas.
