Caddyshack and Under the Rainbow are getting look at for releases.

Acutally, a new transfer has been completed of Arthur so that will probably come out soon.

Poltergiest SE Silver Anniversary on target for next year.

I hope the TV footage of Caddyshack is included..
No plans for Looker.

Guess i'll have to read the entire chat later...

3. I thought the "Superman" 14 discer was scheduled for this summer...how can "Superman Returns" be included? **edit** i guess before X-Mas answers that one, but will the SE's be standalones?

4. WB distributes "The Matrix" correct? Any talk of putting the 1st film as a standalone with the new transfer?

And...an "Angus" SE...that is the best news i saw in that convo!!!!!!!

^1. everything mentioned in the chat was for standard dvd. THe only blue ray/HD release was Gremlins and it was a tenative plan for next year or 2008

2. Little shop...they said they wanted to it right. No definite answer on deleted footage, but it seems like that would be doing it right.

3. didn't see any mention of standalone in the chat, but the whole thing can be read if you follow the link at HTF

4. No one asked about Matrix, and no one offered the info, though the mega set can be had for under 40 bucks now....not bad.

also note: No where did they say Angus was getting a Special Edition, nor that it was anywhere in sight....only that yes they know they own it, and are looking for a place on the schedule. (which he explained that there schedule runs at least into two years away all the time)

Some disappointments there (no OAR for Fearless, etc., no Electric Dreams) but still an exciting array of great movies coming our way!

I think it's fairly loaded, but I've held off particularly becasue I though a new version was just over the horizon.

Didn't want to be caught in double dip territory.

I tried getting in, but gave up afte a while (had to watch the shield), but i would have asked if a fully restored version of terrence mallack's "badlands" was in the works, since he seems to be in the dvd mood (the new world might get a 3 hour cut and plently of extras)

Happy about Poltergeist and Road Warrior.
They mentioned there would be a TV chat. Anyone know when that will be?

The current disc is extremely loaded. I think that the only new special feature would have been David O. Russell's documentary which WB prohibited from being released, I wished someone would have asked about this.

So, I doubt that there will not be a new edition comming out, and if it did, it would be worthless without that documentary.

Also, I didn't see anything in the chat mentioned about Sleepers. I would love to have this released as a Special Edition, and no flipper. Can someone point it out in the transcript, because I have read it twice and I still can't find it.

I wonder why they're including Superman Returns in the set. Wouldn't it make sense to have the Christopher Reeve films in a box, and then do a set for the new ones?

Robert Crawford gave some dates in the thread over at HTF

There will be a May 16th release date for The Green Mile SE. The second Bette Davis Collection is scheduled for May 30th. Look for the John Wayne collection on June 13th. Also, the Clark Gable and John Ford collection will be in June too. Expect the Stanley Kubrick SE dvds on September 6th and the Forbidden Planet SE on October 3rd. The 1962 version of Mutiny on the Bounty on October 10th. I expect the Superman Ultimate Collection to be released on the first Tuesday of either November or December

I hear ya on Fearless. A good flick with only a fullscreen dvd in the USA for what seems like forever. However, Fearless does run on HDNET Movies here and there (a couple of times a month) in HD and in its OAR. Check the listings if you have HDNET, get HDNET if you have an HDTV, or get an HDTV if you don't have that. In that order. All the best.
