We've gotten some more new street date information from our industry sources for some major early '06 titles:
Universal is planning to release Peter Jackson's King Kong on 3/28.
New Line has Just Friends scheduled for March 7.
Paramount has tentatively slated Yours Mine & Ours for February 28.
Miramax's Derailed is currently due on 3/21.
Finally, we're hearing Disney's The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is tentatively due in early April.Keep in mind, all of these dates are unofficial until the studio makes their actual public announcements.
Stay tuned...

The Chronicles Of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe --> April 4th!
It's official!
Buena Vista Home Entertainment has big DVD plans for "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," preparing two versions of the blockbuster hit for release on April 4. Both the single-disc version ($19.99) and a two-disc collector's edition ($29.99) will include two commentaries with director Andrew Adamson, one in which he's accompanied by other filmmakers and the other, by children. Both versions also will come with pop-up windows throughout the film with facts on the movie and "Narnia" author C.S. Lewis. The double-disc "Narnia" also will come with a booklet, concept art, storytelling diaries of the filmmakers, a "making of" featurette, an interactive map of Narnia and an Anatomy of a Scene feature showing how the dramatic melting river sequence was created. Also included are backgrounders on 11 of the creatures in the film, an interactive map of Narnia with descriptions of different locales and a feature on author Lewis.

If there was only a 2-disc version, it would be $15 during release week. Since there are 2 versions, the 2-disc will be probably $22.99 and the 1-disc $14.99
That's why.

Well that sucks. Looks like we can count on this being anywhere from $23-30 for the 2 discer.
Though admittedly this is one I might just pick up the single disk as I liked it enough to buy but probably not enough to sit and watch a bunch of extras on anyway. It was good, but no LOTR or Harry Potter by any means (nor are the books themselves).

I really liked the look of the 2 disc version so I might actually be inclined to get it this time. I too am tired of this.
I guess it's better than them not telling us and releasing the 1 disc first then the 2 disc down the road.
I always get suckered by those deals even though I don't usually upgrade unless there's extra scenes.
I'll have to compare disc to disc since it doesn't sound like there'll be any extended scenes or anything of that nature.

Honestly, I bet this will outsell the Harry Potter discs (dont know about LOTR). This movie was soooo embraced by the christian right, and I bet they will buy them up (along with the LOTR and HP fans that liked it pretty well).
