Superman: Brainiac Attacks
From Supermanhomepage.com :
This is most likely a tie-in with the new Superman movie coming later this year. I just hope that they stick to the Superman from Justice League Unlimited, and Superman :TAS and don't create a new, different, childish version, ala The Batman.
January 23, 2006: Tim Daly Returns for New Superman Animated DVD
TV Guide has provided the Superman Homepage with an exclusive look at the new direct-to-DVD Superman animated adventure.
Dana Delany and Tim Daly will reprise their roles from Superman: The Animated Series with an all-new DVD movie from Warner Bros. Animation later this year.
In Superman: Brainiac Attacks, the Man of Steel faces a combined threat from his two biggest foes, Lex Luthor and Brainiac. But perhaps even more daunting will be getting in touch with his feelings for Lois.
Be sure to grab the January 30th edition of the TV Guide magazine (which subscribers will start receiving today and which hits newsstands this Thursday January 26th) for a larger picture and more details.

The new TVGuide has a picture from the movie, it's in the style of animation we remember. Between that and having the original voices, I don't think we need to worry about an "update".

How are they going to fit this in the current DC Timm/Dini continuity? I mean Supes and the League have already faced a combined threat of Lex-Brainiac during last season. How's this one going to be any different?
Also, what's wrong with George Newbern? As much as I like Daly, I thought Newbern has done a fine job with the Supes voice on JL/JLU.

If it fits into the Bruce Timm series, I am there. I greatly enjoyed this series on TV, and thought it was underrated for the most part. It's a series that not only helped me to enjoy Superman again, but also got me interested in comic books as a whole again.

Has anyone seen this yet? It's getting trashed at Amazon. I bought it, but I'm considering returning it if it's as bad as they're claiming. Also, isn't this on sale for $10 somewhere. If it's worth it at that price, I'd kinda like to, you know, get the $4 back I didn't need to spend.

There are several opinions here, inlcuding mine:

I'm a huge JLU, Superman and Batman fan, but this DTV sucked badly.

It wasn't horrible. Luthor was pretty silly. Maybe redone to match a more
comical Hackman/Spacey? I had read the art looked like The Batman, but it did
match the regular Bruce Timm Animated series.
Spoliers:
What I did like was the Fortress of
Solitude being destroyed, and Superman's trip to the Phantom Zone
