It is about damn time! This is one that I have been waiting for, for a long time. I always kept going to order the R2 one then deciding to hold off and now it has finally paid off. And by paid off I mean an over priced bare-bones disc. Oh well I'll still pick it up.

Well, unlike my colleague at the other news site, I do know there are going to be extras. They will include a feature commentary with director Jean-Pierre Jeunet, a "Fine Cooked Meats: A Nod to Delicatessen" featurette and "The Archives of Jean-Pierre Jeunet."

And we have cover art too.

So there you go.

I'll finally be able to retire my VHS. What took them so long? Couldn't they have given the film better treatment too? A commentary, atleast? Oh well, I'm just happy it's finally been announced.

Sounds the same as R2 dvd (except the French one that has a unique extra: the "full movie with storyboards").

I just bought the R2 UK via CD-WOW for just £2.99. I am happy with it for such a low price.

Still, it's good that finally R1 DVD is to be releaseed.

Is this the full release? Or a Miramax-like hack-job?

There was no "Miramax-like hack-job" for Delicatessen and I doubt they would do a new one specifically for DVD.

Nope. As was already mentionned, the French 2-discer has all the R1 extras plus "the full film storyboarded".

I'll stick with my pretty French tin:

excellent, another JPJ movie to add to my shelf! Now if I can snag a used copy of City of Lost Children, I'd be set.

Miramax has hacked both theatrical releases and DVD only releases. I would not be surprised if their parent company continues to do so. Was BV the company who released Delicatessen theatrically way back when?

Regardless, I'm looking for an answer to the question, not a guess at it. Everybody is talking about the R2 features getting ported, but I'm more concerned about the movie itself, considering the subject matter.
