"Transporter 2" question (re: extended fight scenes)

Why are the extended fight scenes included as an extra and not actually incorporated back into the frame structure of the film?

Are international prints of the film (and other region disc editions) the longer cut?

Wasn't this also the case with the first film, it's the US theatrical PG-13 cut of the film with extended fight scenes as a supplement?

I don't know about part 2 but you are correct about the first transporter movie.

They will be incorporated into the film with the next edition double dip I'm sure.

thanks for the link, it's interesting to note the expanded cut ("The R2 Japanese and German releases not only feature the longer version of the film but also include a DTS-ES soundtrack and have most of the extras as seen on the French disc") wasn't transfered for Region 1 (North America) since it's now common place to include unrated - expanded cuts on DVD.

So where these films originally heading for R ratings before being cut or something?

I have'nt seen either film, but they look like they may be fun. Yet seeing 'unrated extended action and fight scenes' listed on the dvds makes me cautious.

I agree, the extended 'unfinished' fight scenes from 'Unleashed' while fun to watch lack the intensity without finished sound effects and music.

Okay I didn't want to make another thread so here's a question.
I got Transporter 2 at Circuit City because it had a bonus disc and because it was $12.99,but I opened it up and the bonus disc says "Making of the Music",and on the disc there is a featurette of the same name. I haven't got around to watching to compare yet as I don't have the time right now,but how can there be 2 different features on Music? And are they the same thing? Did Circuit City misprint,or pull a Wal-Mart(when the featured a bonus disc with something from the regular disc[Madagascar])? I won't have the time for a day or so,so I wanted to ask.

What a CRAP release! Just as bad as the first release of "Transporter". Glad I rented it instead of buying it. F---ing FS on the other side instead of making it a dual layer with the proper amount of features and a decent picture quality!

I don't know which DVD you were watching...mine has both decent amounts of features AND great picture quality.

The Circuit City exclusive disc has a longer version of the featurette found on the movie DVD.

Ok, so this is a bump of a really old thread - but I bought Transporter 2 about a month ago at Best Buy and just got around to watching it, and it seems to have NO special features. Its a single layer, single sided DVD and there's no "extras" listed on the case or on the menu - did Fox re-release the movie without extras???

Yes. You can still find the old copies out there. I bought the "good" vesrion a few weeks back at Best Buy. I noticed that the covers were slightly differently colored so I looked closer and noticed that the disc contents were different.

The version you want is the version that has both the WS and the FS cuts. I'm not sure why they rereleased the WS with no special features since the original was DS-SL. Unless the extras were only on the FS side, it seems like they could have easly made a new SS-SL disc using just the WS-side of the flipper instead of making a new master and removing the extras.

Well, since I already opened it, and the movie wasn't worth a double-dip, I don't see myself trying to track down the more feature-laden edition, but it would've been nice to grab the better version initially...sigh...

thanks for the info tho!
