I was thrilled to pick up 'The Bad Sleep Well' at my local Best Buy today. It's ahead of schedule by 2 weeks. Was this a screw up by Best Buy or is it supposed to come out today?

Amazon still shows it as being out on January 10th. Probably just an oversight by Best Buy in putting it out early.

Strange, mine in Chicago Illinois (Lincoln Park). Had it out today too...

Yeah, we got it in early. The box that it came in was without a street date, so many I'm sure put it out with their new releases. We did.

I noticed it at my store... and it is still out back with a big tag on it... Don't sell til jan 10th (and the dvdtalk release list stapled to the box)

It was out at my local BB too (on 12/30, in western NC), with one copy marked $9.99, other correct price. Got it for 9.99.

wow .. seems a lot of BB's messed up. It was just a CC dvds in the box and no labels so those that did not know the release... put it out.

It's release date was pushed up to 1/1/06.

My Best Buy had it out, but it's nothing new really as they've had most all of the newer ones out in advance for some reason?

I use to work at said Best Buy (In Monroeville, PA), and I use to work in the media departent as well. The dvds for the most part would come in large rubber yellow crates. Some would have release date notes on them. But even if there wasn't, there was always a list with release dates that we were suppose to check before they went to the floor. I guess some just don't care as much.

Looks like I'll have to stop by Best Buy this week.

Darn it - I tried two of mine and they're sticking to the release date! I used to work as a senior in media there, so I'm gonna have to go to my old store and see if they screwed up.

I'm hoping to get mine in the mail today.

Well , when i get into work tomorrow , i will check the computer there. If the release is up.. come to the cape!

I'm waiting till Best Buy gets this. I was gonna order it from DVD Planet but they never lowered the price despite the "ALL CRITERIONS 35% OFF!!" written all over their website.

I lucked out yesterday and found it on the shelf at my old Best Buy.

Well, damn. Now it's official.

Release date still shows 1/10 at the store , and is the same at others so... it will be staying in the back here.

The Criterion site still indicates their original release dates.

Checked out two Best Buys yesterday and didn't find 'Virgin Spring' but did see 'Bad Sleep Well' at both of them... Has anyone actually picked up a copy of 'Virgin Spring' yet?

yeah i see that... It must of been a glitch/Typo in Criterion's database. They had both Titles as released on January first in the new release section.
