Mine freezes up at around the 1:09 part and then jumps to 1:13 and some change. I know this is a Universal disc so that is most likely the problem. I'm going to exchange it today and hopefully get a good copy. Anyone else having any problems at all?

No playback problem but at the very beginning of the movie were some sound effects with so much bass I thought my sub woofer was gonna blow for sure.

I'll second that. No problems with the playback but the sound is amazing.

LOL... same thing with my sounds... I was a little overzealous so I set the surround sound volume to 8... Im glad I still have windows in my TV room.

No problems for me. The best sound I've heard coming out of my sprakers for a long time.

I returned my first copy just before the store closed for Christmas Eve. Now I'm getting ready to see if the new disc has the same problem. I'm hoping that I'm not buying from a bad batch. I even tried the first disc on two players of different brands before I posted this thread. Thanks for all of the responses.

Silly person, that's why you buy eight copies. One of thems bound to work okay.

Have you watched "War of the Worlds" on dvd yet?

Mine freezes at 1:19 or so then jumps to the next chapter.

No problems on my player.

The only problem I found was a glitch in the commentary track at the layer change.
