Saw Ii - 2/14/06

That's a wonderful date to release unrelenting bloodshed.

Anyway, Fangoria has released the specs and art for the upcoming Saw II DVD:

Lions Gate Home Entertainment just gave Fango the first look at the DVD art for SAW II, streeting February 14, and shared the final specs. In addition to an anamorphic widescreen transfer with 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround EX audio, the disc will contain the following:

• Audio commentary by director Darren Lynn Bousman and actors Donnie Wahlberg and Beverley Mitchell
• Jigsaw’s Game making-of featurette
• Bits and Pieces—The Props of SAW II featurette
• The Traps of SAW II featurette
• Storyboards
• Conceptual art gallery
• Trailers

Retail price is $28.98.

The features sound cool (and compared to other covers, the artwork is a godsend), but the lack of DTS-ES blows.

All the other Saw DVDs have it. Hopefully, there'll be a DTS track added before the release.

More buzzsaws. Meh.

Great movie, though.

It is sad that one of the producers died recently.

this isnt going to be uncut? seeing the movie at theater, it looked like it could have been considerably edited. the hands in the box segment especially.

Must be a typo - I can't imagine they'd put an EX soundtrack on there and no DTS-ES. Have also seen some retailers listing it with DTS-ES. Guess we'll have to wait and see.

Scared to pick this up though in case they bring out an unrated one .....

I don't see why they would wait two years to release the 3rd Saw. It doesn't take that long to crank out a movie like this and if they wait that long people may not care anymore. Lion Gate's best bet is to keep the train rolling while they can before something bigger and better comes along.

I'm ready for next October. Have to pass on the Grudge 2 though. The "noise" that lady made just didn't do anything for me. Sounds like something elementary kids do.

of course there wil be an "uncut" with DTS eventually. they are probably being smarter on this release with the poultry extras listed.
there will be more...oh yes there will be more.

This movie has chickens!? Yes, I love chickens!!! I believe the word is paltry...meaning scant, or just plain craptastic. Ok, I'm officially a jerk. Thank you for putting up with me.

Hmm, didn't get that one. I listened to the commentary and thought it was annoying, it's just the two of them patting each other on the back and gushing over the cast. I didn't really get anything out of it. And yeah, don't know if I'll be getting this because there will be a special edition I'm sure looming sometime around the release of SAW 3

Aren't there two different commentaries? One for the regular dvd and one for the unrated version.

Yes there are two different commentaries. The unrated one features the writer,director(again)...and Elwes.

I'm not sure exactly how much they differ in conent though, since I only sampled both commentaries. Though the unrated one seemed like they were having a ball and quite amusing from what I heard.
