DVD Rot Question

What does it look like?

Because recently, my two-disc for The Phantom of the Opera has been giving me issues. On the bottom, including minor scratches that just appeared out of nowhere, there's this strange formation at the medium left side of the disc. It looks like a fingerprint and every time I try to clean it off, nothing was removed.

So, because of this formation, I can't play Chapters 11 - 14.

Is it DVD rot or did I loan my copy of Phantom to the wrong person?

could be rot if it is happening under the plastic layer. Good chance the glue has just come undone. Contact Warner for a replacement, or do the old switcharoo at your retailer after Xmas.

Well, back to complaining to them about this DVD and my messed up Wax slipcase.
