Well, I just ordered it! Went to amazon and got the 3-month free prime shipping trial. So it'll be here tomorrow. I'll be getting it at the office, but I think I'll leave it in the box. Don't want to freak out the other employees by taking out my giant ape. This will look good next to my monster busts.
This thread proves what we already knew....people love getting head. |

Well, UPS delivered my set this morning at work. I went home on my break to check it out. Amazing! This is definitely my favorite collection. The ape head is awesome and I love the packaging of the discs. Very classy. My set is #9605. I can't wait to start going through this.

DeepDiscountDVD sure did a wonderful job shipping out orders of POTA:APE HEAD.
I got mine last Tuesday, despite choosing "USPS - expedited shipping", It was delivered to me via UPS:Ground. Packaging was wonderfully done! |
So many funny wife jokes in this thread rotfl
|
DDD definitely did me right on the packing and UPS Ground upgrade for free (probably works out cheaper due to weight anyway), very impressed.

An Easter Egg can be found on the Special Features menus for both ESCAPE and CONQUEST, though if you already own the PotA: 35th Anniversary Edition or the Image edition of BEHIND THE "PLANET OF THE APES", then they're nothing you haven't already seen:
Don Taylor Directs Escape from the Planet of the Apes (7:30) J. Lee Thompson Directs Conquest of the Planet of the Apes (1:06) |

I'll bet some of the lower numbers were pulled and presented to "special" individuals.
Like maybe those that had something to do with the films ie. actors, directors, etc. Studio and company executives. Many of whom would think "what the heck is this!!!" and throw it is a closet somewhere or give it to the pool boy. |
MIne was from Amazon as well and was #2845
|
good grief sixteen pages - I ain't scrolling backward..
question (which I would assume has been answered before... sorry) which of the films in the new box set is a new extended cut? |
Conquest, the one made in 1973.
|
sparks is completely in error...the extended edition is for BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES (which was made in '73, he has that much correct--CONQUEST was 1972), featuring more footage of trigger-happy human mutants...
