On dvd, you can see him at Backlash 2002 if you can find the dvd. This was the last ppv WWF did prior to the name change to WWE. I found it shortly after the name change, but it's been out of print for a while now.

Amen to that. That dvd brought back a lot of memories for me as well as enlightened me on some things that took place prior to my ever seeing World Class Championship Wrestling. Another dvd you might check out is called Kevin Von Erich Presents The BEst Of The Von Erich's. It's a single disc release. It was done a few years back prior to WWE's acquisition of the WCCW library. It has some key matches from that era as well as some interviews with Kevin. I bought it as a companion to go with the Heroes Of World Class dvd. I bought it because I didn't know how long it would be available due to WWE's purchase of that footage, and who knows what WWE will release?
In 1987, a UHF channel here in the Kansa City area would air wrestling every Saturday morning starting at 8 AM. This was when I quit watching cartoons and started watching wrestling...lol
You had a Jim Crockett show, a Florida Championship Wrestling Show, a UWF Show, a World Class Show, and WWF Wrestling Challenge. Somewhere in there they aired a Pro Wrestling Illustrated Weekly show that was hosted by Joe Pedecino and I think Gordon Solie participated in it as well. They showed highlights of all the wrestling territories at the time.
The mid-80's were a great time to be a wrestling fan. There was so much wrestling on TV and the territories were very distinctly different. Today, you see TNA trying to emulate WWE as well as a lot of up-start promotions. Back in the 80's it was different. More times than not, the smaller wrestling promotions turned out a better show than the WWF. UWF is a prime example. I hope whomever owns the UWF footage either starts putting out dvd's or sells the footage to Vince, because I want to see that stuff again. They were red hot back then and no one could touch them. They just didn't have the exposure that WWF had. Bill Watts knew how to put out a quality wrestling product back then and had a lot of talent under his command. They kicked ass.

Let me know if you want to trade for it or sell it.

However, Batista was not to be overshadowed for long and he parted ways with D'von, in dramatic fashion, in September of 2002, leaving SmackDown behind.

I picked it up last week at BB for $14.99 as well. I remembered seeing a trailer for it online last year but didn't realize it was out on DVD. I haven't had time to watch the whole thing yet but so far it is very good. It really brought back the memories of 1984-86 when I would watch it every Saturday morning at 10AM.

I gave you wrong information about Batista being with D-Von at Backlash 2002. It was actually Judgment Day 2002. I had my months mixed up.

My Royal Rumble set should be here later on today. I think I will watch the 2000 Royal Rumble first. I loved that PPV. Between the main event, tables match, and Tazz debuting, it was an awesome PPV.

Just hope it arrives in one piece..I have been hearing so many horror stories with damaged boxes/disks...I bought mine directly from the WWE and it arrived perfect....Good luck!

jackepstein 03-29-07 10:06 AM

mine came damaged from walmart.com
they sent it in a bubble mailer. I called them up to complain and they gave me $25 off my order.

How on earth can a huge box set fit in a bubble mailer? Does Walmart actually care about their customers? Did you take the $25 refund?

I will definitely be looking at every disc to make sure there's no scratches or anything.

Are these discs easier to get out of the holders? On some of the WM ones, you nearly have to break the disc to get them loose. It's so annoying.

jackepstein 03-29-07 10:20 AM

It was an industrial bubble mailer (white plastic, not the yellow paper ones). Completely idiotic, IMO.

I took the refund, but have yet to open it up yet. If the damage is really bad, I can bring it back to the store for a full refund, or call them up again and try to get them to send a replacement.

Mine arrived in perfect shape from Wal-Mart.com
No damage to the discs or the set itself.

My Buffy the Vampire Slayer boxset came in the same bubble envelope. It was a little dented, but nothing too bad. Another time I ordered the Departed HD-DVD from them and it came in the same thing, and the case was destroyed. Luckily the disc was fine. I think it primarily depends on your mail/UPS carrier and how careless they are. Of course, WalMart deserves some of the blame for not finding something other than a soft bubble envelope to put the stuff in.

I got my replacement box from Family Video today. It was in perfect shape. I wonder if my other box was damaged on the way here or it was because it was the last one they had left and hoped I wouldn't complain when I got it.

I also got a real copy of the RAW Home Coming DVD today :-) Just checking, but nobody else had an insert, correct?

I also got my Ultimate Warrior Special Collectors Edition today.

What kind of damage did you have ThomaMon ?

I bought my Rumble box at retail and found that alot of them had damage on the top or bottom of the outer box, it looked like it was ripping at the seam in that area, I just wonder if it is a manufacturing problem. I also saw 2 disc 3's with a crack in the middle.

By the way did family video replace just the box itself or the entire set?

The bottom and top of the box was broke, kinda ripping through. They sent me a new set, but nothing to return the old one in. I just look at my credit card and they refunded my money for the old one, but charged me again. I have to contact them about getting the other set back to them.

Is the Warrior set the Self destruction one or is there another?

bahgee 03-29-07 09:08 PM

Based on SPeedy's thread, looks like Circuity City will have the 4 Horsemen DVD for $14.99

lastofthewild1s 03-29-07 11:11 PM

The only defects on my Royal Rumble Anthology are pictured below. Just minor tearing on the edge of the box. All the discs look fine. I'm still watching them, but have yet to come across any problems with their playability. No cracked discs or anything like that.
