Lets say we all call and ask for the RAW and Smackdown tribute to Eddie Guerrero to be released on dvd. from what i have heard there is no plan these episodes to be release on dvd and is not such a crazy idea. I mean they wouldnt need to start a new project cause they already have the episodes. They would just need to add a menu and a cover design and that it. Lets see what happens if we ALL call and ask badly for it. Are you with me?

That's a great idea! They can even rerelease the other Eddie DVD with a bonus disc of Raw and Smackdown. We really should start a campaign. I can post it on another site I visit, PWInsider.com and see if that helps.

did someone want pics of the official Raw Homecoming US release??? here are pics of mine, which i got from walmart....you can also tell its official by looking at the etched number around the inner ring of the dvd....it'll match the UPC and the WWE Release # on the bottom of the spine's outer insert.

yeah, then yours is official too (you can check that number also, they should match)....i'm interested to see what ThomaMon's looks like....

No matter what we do, I dont think they will release the Eddie Tribute Shows, that would piss off a lot of people...You know I was thinking, there HAS to be footage of Owen Hart falling from the ceiling, you would think they would always have the hard camera rolling for a PPV...not that its a big deal to see, but they have never released that PPV to home video.

That Over The Edge 1999 ppv probably won't ever be released commercially. Think about it. Sure, they would sell plenty of copies of it. Mostly to fans of wrestling who genuinely would like to have the matches on dvd. But, it would be a public relations nightmare. In the end, no matter what the motivation, it would look like WWE were just trying to make a buck off of the Owen Hart tragedy. They might be able to get by with it if it were part of an In Your House Anthology box set, but that's a long shot. At the time of that PPV, I don't think they were calling the monthly PPV's "In Your Haouse" anymore anyway. Iwould like to see the Owen Tribute Show released on dvd though.
As for footage of Owen's fall...I have no desire to see that at all if it even exists. I was there that night, and was fortunate enough to not see his fall. They were showing a pre-taped segment of him giving an interview as the Blue Blazer at the time he fell in the arena, and my attention was on the screen showing that. A few people were commenting about someone dropping in the ring, and it was at that time that I saw him laying there. I had bad seats for the event, so I didn't get a good look at him. And honestly, I'm glad. That's an image I would never be able to get out of my mind. I will always remember that night as being my least favorite ppv ever. After Owen fell, eveything afterward was just so insignificant. Taker won the title from Austin that night, and it didn't mean anything to anyone, because of Owen's tragedy. In hindsight, I think Vince should have stopped the show. It took the wind right out of the sails of Over The Edge when Owen fell. There was no way of regaining the crowd either.

l8nerduke32 03-26-07 09:06 PM

I agree, its not something that I need, let alone WANT, to see either.....you hit it right on the head as to what I was eluding to. People would say they wanted to make money off of it, just like many people did when they continued using Eddie's name on tv and in storylines. So just think if they were to release the Eddie and Owen tribute shows on dvd, a good portion of people would say they wanted to make money off of it. They would get a lot of criticism for that. Which is a shame because there were good matches on those tribute shows. If they were to make a IYH anthology, that would probably be the only way to see that title change. By the way, some of the earlier IYHs were decent ppvs.

lastofthewild1s 03-26-07 09:40 PM

I didn't state this in my earlier post, but it's ironic. I attended the 1998 Survivor Series in St. Louis where Rock won the title tournament and his first WWF title. Earlier that night during a Heat broadcast, Owen (as the Blue Blazer) was lowerd from the rafters of the Keil Center to the arena floor in the middle of the entrance isle. The gimmick was that Owen couldn't loosen himself from the harness and just dangled there with his feet just out of reach of the floor. Steve Blackman (whom Owen was feuding with at the time) came to the isle and kicked Owen as he dangled there. It was a really funny moment, but six months later it was a little haunting to think back to.

JAROTO 03-26-07 11:41 PM

ok so if you think it would be hard the WWE releases the Eddie tributes..then maybe when can choose another show. i suggest it should be a RAW or Smackdown episode so its easy for the WWE to please us without having to start a new dvd production. any suggestions?

Are there any extra's besides the show? Did they include that raw on usa clip show, showing classic RAW moments. I believe they put it on a week before the homecoming show and again 10 minutes before the start of the show.

The only PPV that will have a paper insert will be WrestleMania since its the biggest show. She said the reason is that most everything is listed on the outer insert. The superstar and documentary releases, at the moment, are still scheduled to have inserts. I guess we will have to wait and see...Personally, I think this sucks because everytime I get a new dvd, I like to see what kind of artwork is on the inside...I suppose with most new dvds being released without them, WWE is just following the trend. Bummer, oh well.

So the first 2 ppv's of 07 had inserts and the rest will not? That's great WWE. It reminds me of back in 02 and 03 when every other disc would not have an insert for some reason. Great consistency.

Correct, only New Years Revolution and Royal Rumble have the inserts, No Way Out is the first to not have an insert....WrestleMania 23 will because its the biggest event.

You also want to see some great consistency??? No Mercy, Survivor Series and Armageddon from 2005 have the titles printed upside down from the standard format on the spines. So if you were to line them up instead of reading top to bottom, you are reading bottom to top. Pretty lame if you stack them and dont have the "05 Rewind Collector's Box"...well, I have the box and even with it, it just looks out of place. "Divas Do New York" is also printed the opposite direction on the spine.

I always was meaning to comment about the upside down titles on those dvds. Here is another good one, why did the McMahon 2 disc set come in a digipak when all of the other 2 discers come in keepcases?

Phineas444 03-27-07 10:51 AM

Some were asking about Over the Edge 99..correct me if I'm wrong that PPV was never even released on VHS was it? If this was said I apologize, skimmed over it. I know with the lawsuit with Owen's wife it was said never to be allowed on tape. With that suit settled I know it's a long shot, but everyone needs at least to see The Union in all their glory one time in their life.

Wildo1966 03-27-07 11:36 AM

The WWF never released the PPV on video and they never will....

doctaheath78 03-27-07 07:15 PM

Have any of the matches from Over the Edge 99 been released on any compilation dvds?

I was out today and found a Kane DVD I never knew was out. Was this an exclusive somewhere? They only had two left so I picked up an extra if anyone on the board needs it for their collection.

I believe the "Kane: Journey to Hell" dvd was an exclusive for Suncoast/Sam Goody (thats where I got mine) and all the other chains that fall under that company umbrella.

doctaheath78 03-27-07 10:51 PM

Does anyone have an extra copy of King of the Ring 2001 on DVD they are willing to part with? I was going through my collection and it seems that is the only PPV I am missing from my collection. If anyone does please let me know, since I do have extras to trade for it. THANKS.
