Polar Express Two-Disc Problems?

I tried doing a search for this and came up blank, but inevitably someone will find this in another thread. My family and I watched the two-disc special edition of Polar Express last night and several times during the movie it seemed to pause for a second. It would continue to move after that, but it was very noticable while watching and I was wondering if this is a.) a problem everyone is having, b.) a problem because my dvd player needs to be cleaned, c.) a by-product of watching movies on my cheap dvd player upstairs which has never caused problems before, or d.) all of the above of none of the above, etc. etc. What I'm getting at before I took the discs back to the point of purchase is are other people having problems with the two-disc as a manufacturing problem or will I be able to just exchange them and not have it happen again.

Thanks in advance.

I haven't had any trouble with mine. I got the single-disc version, but AFAIK it's the same disc as the first disc in the two-disc version.

It could be some weird player incompatibility. Both of my U2 live DVDs (Vertigo and Elevation) have something very similar to what you described when playing them back using Theatertek DVD player software, but play fine in a standard player.

I have the two disc version and the movie played flawlessly. Your dvd player may have some dirt on the lense or it could be a problem. My Constantine did the same thing and then froze up after a second short pause, so it could also be a bad disc. Try another player and if not, you may do well to switch it.

I'm having the same problem with Disc 1. It hangs sometime in the 38 minute range. I have to advance it about a minute before it plays again. I exchanged the disc and the new one does the same.
