I only saw the head variation at Media Play and Circuit City, so I thought the box one had been cancelled or something. Glad to see that isn't the case.

Does the regular box do stuff the Marge head doesn't? If so, I might have to get that one.

I'd like to change my answer from earlier: it's on my Christmas list, so I'll get whatever, if anything, is given to me.

I stopped by Target and they only had the box. There was an empty space next to them so possibly they sold the heads already.

I picked up the regular box version at Future Shop. It seems that they have more of the Marge "heads" in stock than the box.

To any of the marge head owners. Is there an insert to order the traditional size box? Just wondering.

does the Marge head version comes with the order form for a "regular-shaped" slipover like the Homer head did?

why couldn't they make the character heads a little larger so they could actually fit the regular editions into them, saving us the trouble of choosing.

Does anyone know if the marge head version contains an order form for the regular box version?

I don't know if this has been asked yet but I got the Homer head for season 6 and it included a little piece of paper that let me send away for a regular box. Is there something similar to this in the Marge head for season 7?

Paul
I highly doubt that. If early indications mean anything, it appears that most stores are getting more of the head version, or the head version exclusively. You also aren't taking into account that the majority of people who will buy this set probably do not frequent message boards such as this, and are probably not as anal as a lot of us are about things like packaging. They will buy whatever is on the shelf and not think twice.

Re: order form for the regular box inside the Marge head version: I would be really surprised if there is one this time. That is specifically why they made 2 different versions of the set.

the marge head does not have a slip to order the other box. it only comes with the varitey looking insert/book.

furthermore the new cardboard box has a diffrent set of innards than the marge head, and would not fit the regular box. I have seen both. You have to choose this time.

I sent an email to FOX, to maybe see if the slipcase for the "marge head" owners, can order one. While they didn't answer my question directly, it seems that you won't be able to order a slipcase. I sent them an email back for clarification, but I doubt the slipcase will be available to order.

Hello,

The retail stores should have both packagings available to the consumer.
You may try Target as I have seen them there. Thank you for contacting
us!

Thank you,
Fox Consumer Service

Subject: Simpsons 7 dvd box set "marge head"

Hello,
Can you tell me if there is an option to order a "traditional" box
cover for those that purchased the "Marge Head" version of the Simpsons
season 7 dvd set, like how it was done for the "Homer Head" version for
Simpsons season 6 dvd set?

Just got the response from FOX. There will be no slipcase offered to "marge head" owners.

Hello,

Unfortunately, we are not offering the replacement box for Season 7. You
as the consumer, have the option to pick from the two different
packagings at the time of purchase. Thank you for contacting us!

Thank you,
Fox Consumer Service

I realize there are two versions out there, but was wondering if those who bought the "marge head" version could also order a slip cover box (like what was done with the "homer head"). So that collectors could have the option do display either version, without having to buy two sets?

If not, that's cool, just makes it harder to decide which to buy.

Nice to see that the regular box is actually in the same packaging and not the half-assed but suitable nonetheless "regular" box for season 6.

to Fox for getting their heads back together (no pun intended).

It seems like the head is selling better than the box - could it be that us complainers are just the vocal majority and most people actually like the heads better. So in the end, if the head sells a lot more, they may just go back to doing ONLY the heads...
