12 minutes longer - waah! bring it on!

kornboy 11-28-05 08:58 AM

Was this a good film? Or should I say, would this be a good blind buy? I loved all the Doom games. I remember the original SNES version, red cartridge, yeah, those were the days.

Mr. Cinema 11-28-05 09:03 AM

It didn't exactly light up the box office grossing about $44 million worldwide (including a 72% drop! its second weekend.). I'll rent it, but it looks like something I'd watch only once.

Giles 11-28-05 09:09 AM

it was the perfect rainy Saturday afternnon popcorn movie when I saw it. I quite enjoyed it - sure it wasn't deep but it was fun.

Seantn 11-28-05 09:39 AM

I'd really suggest a rental first.

ShagMan 11-28-05 10:07 AM

Yeah, good screen fodder for a boring weekend, I'm in.

Slowpc 11-28-05 10:50 AM

Yea , it was not "that" bad, worth at least a rental.

matome 11-28-05 11:01 AM

I'll give this a rent

The movie was pathetic. Took way too much time to build-up. Even though I fully expected it to be total junk, it somehow managed to be even lower than that!

It is NOT a good blind buy, IMO. If you have 90 minutes with nothing better to do than jabbing your eyeballs with a ballpoint pen, then it is worth saving your eyesight and renting it.

fryinpan1 11-28-05 04:28 PM

I like the Rock, so I will probably get this as an eventual Columbia House blind buy.

demonio 11-28-05 05:25 PM

The Rock was a fine wrestler and everything but seems to me that all his movies aren't exactly very good or make much money.....oh well I guess he's gotta find a niche somewhere.

Libby 11-28-05 05:29 PM

its a rental at best. The rock was way better in the rundown.

I didn't think Karl Urban would have gotten cast billing ahead of The Rock. This reminds me of "Bad Boys" and "Bad Boys II". Martin Lawrence is named first, and then it's Will Smith.

tonymontana313 11-28-05 06:51 PM

Wow, that cover looks pretty bad.

nemein 11-28-05 07:09 PM

That cover alone may keep me from buying it as a blind buy ;)

Bill Geiger 11-28-05 07:13 PM

Too bad no dts...guess I'll have to get it elsewhere!

atari2600 11-28-05 07:20 PM

ill blind buy it

RichardW 11-28-05 07:34 PM

I like The Rock, but I'll probably just rent it.

fumanstan 11-28-05 09:13 PM

I'll probably blind buy this, didn't get to catch it in theaters even though i wanted to.

Liquid Death 11-28-05 09:22 PM

Cover is way too cheesy - loved & grew up with the games and saw the flick in the theater - but I have to be honest, it is very much a rental :)

dadaluholla 11-28-05 09:36 PM

Yup. I'll be doing the blind buy on this one.

DeanoBKN 11-28-05 10:03 PM

What's with the choice of color on the cover? Isn't Doom...supposed to be dark?

Also, what gives with this fullscreen only bullshit for the rated version?

Bluebomber 11-28-05 10:18 PM

Liked the movie but man that has to be the worst cover i've seen in awhile. I would expect something like that for a made for t.v movie but not something that had a theatrical run.
