Puppetmaster vs. Demonic Toys - 1/17/2006

Specs: 1.77:1/16x9 --- 2.0 Dolby
MSRP $9.98

It’s the night before Christmas Eve, and oddball inventor Robert Toulon (Corey Feldman of THE GOONIES and STAND BY ME) has discovered his great granduncle’s formula for reanimating the master’s lethal puppets: Six-Shooter, Jester, Blade and Pinhead. Meanwhile, diabolical industrialist Erica Sharpe (Vanessa Angel of KINGPIN and WEIRD SCIENCE) is finalizing her satanic plan for unleashing her father’s foul-mouthed, blood-guzzling toys upon the world’s underprivileged children. But even if Toulon can give the puppets a deadly cyber makeover and stop the blood sacrifice of his daughter, can he still prevent the coming Christmas carnage? Playtime is over: Get ready for the final battle between the ultimate titans of toy terror!

Damn... to bad they can't re-release the original bunch.

Because I'm not shelling out hundreds of dollars to pick up the OOP box set.

Yeah, pretty basic cover art. Would love for them to release the box set again on a limited basis...say 5000 copies.

AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

I love the Puppet Master series, but SCI-FI (Full Moon/Shadow Entertainment does not own the franchise any more) did a really crap job here. I'd consider this the "Batman & Robin" of the series. Just my two-cents.

Why couldn't they make a cover like this to match the other DVDs?

If anybody has this art in high-res, I'll create a cover to match.

Charlie Band promises that he is going to make a real sequel for the fans because he knows the latest havn't exactly been what fans deserve. I read somewhere that the Sci-Fi deal was just for that movie and not eh rights for all Puppet master/Demonic Toys properties.
I'm excited for what he could do.

I was under the impression that they (Full Moon/Shadow Entertainment) didn't own the franchise anymore. But if what you say is true, then that's good news and I can't wait! I hope Band starts with Puppet Wars.

He only let them make the movie so he could get some cash but he said that even he refuses to watch it.

I hope he didn't use the cash to make the last movie/clip show.

Doesn't Paramount own all the Pupper Master movies? Why can't they release them, goddamit?

Hill - Did you see Sci-Fi's Puppet Master vs. Demonic Toys? If so, what did you think about it?

CB - No I didn't, I kinda didn't want to get depressed. I heard enough about it. But if I was a consultant I would have giving them some suggestions but I only sold Sci-Fi the rights to one Puppet Master movie. People think I don't have the rights anymore, but that's not true. We can make all the Puppet Master movies we want, we control the merchandise, etc. I gave them the right to make that one movie when I needed the money. That's it.

Hill - OH, so you ARE coming out with a new Puppet Master movie?

CB - Yeah I gotta redeem myself. The one that appeared on TV, I mean I had nothing to do with it directly. So I want to go back and make a great Puppet Master movie. Puppet Master went in so many directions and I never thought they would be making so many. I was pulled in so many directions over the years so with the one I do next year I want to go back to the very roots. I mean if there was a Puppet Master I'd want it to be closer to, I'd say 1 or 3.

As far as I know it would be all up to Paramount for the early originals to come out on dvd.
The box set was originally released without Paramounts permission/knowledge from what I understand and they immediately had to stop production for legal reasons, which is why they are so expensive on ebay.

Yeah we all know there was a legal debacle with the boxset, but why can't Paramount release their own? From what I understand the video quality of that set isn't even that good.
