DVDs from CHINA real or fake?

Ok first I hate bootlegs. When I first started collecting DVDs mostly anime I bought a couple bootlegs off ebay that I thought were legit. Well after the fact I was informed from my buddy that they were boots.

My question is are any US DVDs from China real or are they all fake?

Is see some people selling DVD sets that they say "China Version DVD means they are official release of mainland China"

Like this is this a bootleg?
Mod edit: Ebay link removed

In response to this question generally any R0 of an US/R1 movie you find from China will be a boot. If it's an R3 US movie though it could be legit. The trickier part is when it comes to things like anime or non-US/R1 movies and then it's anybody's guess. My recommendation is to stick to reputable dealers. It might be a little more expensive but atleast you know you are getting the real product.

Just the mention of "DVD-5" should mean it's a bootleg.

The National Geographic specials come one to a disk, yet this set somehow has 100 episodes on just 25 disks: 4 hour-long episodes per single-layer disk. Even if it wasn't a bootleg, the quality would suck.

That is what I thought just wanted to confirm. I was just about to edit my post and remove the link. Sorry about that.

Thanks guys for the quick help. I really wish boots didn't exist. More people would buy legit and we would end up with cheaper dvds and more products(movies, shows, etc.) being produced.

DVD's in Mainland China are usually Region 6 and in the PAL format.
Hong Kong and Taiwan are usually Region 3 and NTSC.

now for something like National Geographic, it would be region coded in China.
and no, not everything from China are bootlegs. Warner Home Video has invested alot of money in the last 2 years to produce legit DVD's for a very cheap price. in fact, they've even released a 2 disc set dvd edition of "Ocean's Twelve" but.....that movie sucks so who cares about that? (lol!)
