Good news if it's happening. I wonder if Season 1: Volume 1 means they're releasing this as singles first? I hope not.

I think S1 Vol 1 means they are breaking up the season into halves. This makes some sense since S1 had 39 episodes which would take about 10 DVDs and be a pricey set.

The remaining seasons were all about 30 episodes long so I would expect Paramount to continue splitting them up.

Perry Mason is still one of the best hour long dramas ever to be on TV and I'm glad to finally be able to own high quality, uncut episodes.

When I was a kid my parents allowed me to watch only one hour of TV during the school week. Perry Mason was my one hour for several years.

They've been rerun so often though, I'm not sure I'd want to see the shows again on DVD.

Paramount Home Entertainment has sent over highres artwork for Perry Mason: Season 1 Volume 1 which stars Raymond Burr, Barbara Hale and William Hopper. The five-disc set will be available to own from the 11th July, and should retail at around $49.99. Each of the episodes will be presented in 1.33:1 full frame (black and white), along with English Mono tracks. As far as we know, no extras will be included.

I've got almost all of eps still on VHS, including the movies. I'll be buying these.
