i think the Elite version of the first movie was the one to hold on to for the different aspect ratio, and that was about it.

The Elite disc has the original 1.33:1 shooting ratio but the lightning bolt shot is cut and Cheryl's reveal as a deadite has an artificial "zoom" added, so it's a modified version. You may wanna keep it for the additional visual space and the more extensive still gallery but the "Book of the Dead" edition has all the other extras and the true theatrical version of the film. As for the second film, the only extra missing from the first SE is the ad for the original PSX/Dreamcast game, though Raimi did have the rod digitally erased from the "flying eyeball" scene.
