Wow!!! Universal Replaced My Defective Old DVD!
After reading this thread:
Old Universal disk problems
I checked all my Universal discs and found that my old Apollo 13 Collector's Edition was no longer working. Wouldn't even load in my player or DVD-ROM drives. It was dead.
So, I went over to Universal Home Video's Website here:
http://www.universalstudios.com/home...gi?email_id=10
and reported the defect and asked for a replacement. A few days later, I received and e-mail with a ticket number and an address to send the disc.
Just today, only about 2 weeks later, I received my replacement. They sent it back in the packaging I sent the original disc in. And the new copy works to boot.
Too Cool! Thanks to Universal for fixing the problem.
P.S. they sent me a new copy of the old Collector's Edition, not the new 2-disc set.

I wonder what they would have done 5 years from now? Send an HD disc as a replacement? We can only hope.
Again, congrats!

I emailed Universal as well a few weeks ago and received a response asking to send the defective dvds back to USHE. I still need to send the dvds back, however I used the following email address instead ([email protected]) and received a response in less than 24 hours.

My Apollo 13 CE works fine. But my The Pianist died. So I followed the link above and sent a request to Universal. One can only hope...

They actually used Fedex to send me my replacement though which was very nice. I was expecting Media Mail or something.
