Lilo & Stitch Special Edition?

What happened to the U.S. 2 disk Lilo & Stitch Special Edition? Was it delayed or canceled?

Thanks...

It's been in limbo. Best guess is that it's coming with the release of Leroy & Stitch next year.

Then you didn't read the post. The post had the question. The topic had the topic. I didn't see anything in the forum rules about question marks (capitalization doesn't seem to matter to some people). I did find something about "Padding your post count with one line posts or other attempts at flooding the forum with posts." I tried to fix the topic, but was unable to. I'm sorry to those that are traumatized by this.

Thanks Cameron for your positive contribution and effort to help build the DVDTalk community. Even more thanks to those that actually provided information.

sigworthy...

I would say its an unwritten rule. Spend some time browsing over titles without "?" and you will notice more than a lion's share of post flaming the OP about it. It would be wise to learn it early on in your stay here At the same time, my reply was not vindictive in any way, and if you can't pick up on sarcasm then you probably won't have a very long tenure here. I mean you know ill will, and will not debate who has a more worthy contribution to this online community. The answers are here, and the search engine is located near the top of the page.

Pretty please Cameron.

"Lilo" pulls up 26 threads. I really don't feel like wading through ll of them.

Look for the R1/R4 Special Edition 2 discs. Same as the UK edition and cheap.

Yeah, Cameron seems to dig up old and dead threads for every other "repost" here, surprised it wasn't done here.

Oh alright. I'll just explain it...the announcement started here

Disney Release Schedule through Nov 2004!

This was validated by a brochure that came with the dvd for Brother Bear...

Neither Movie came out on the day initially conceived for it. However Pocahontas was released, at a later date.

Pocahontas 10th Anniversary Edition -- May 3rd

It was believed that this would be announced on the Stitch has a glitch dvd, but alas no trailer.

Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (08/30)

However More Lilo & Stitch is on the horizong, as Leroy & Stitch will be making its way to dvdin april...

Disney sequels are coming. Lots of them.

Disney will re-release Tarzan, and Emperor's New Groove next week. Ultimately this is to cash in on the sequals recently arriving on dvd. Disney should follow suit with this on Leroy & Stitch. Dumbo, and treasure planet were listed as OOP a few weeks ago, and both will recieve 2-discers next year as well, to cash in on the sequal. Lilo & Stitch 2 Disc SE has not been announced, but it is to be expected for holiday season 2006.

To answer the OP's "?"
Long story short, the announcement was nothing more than a small ad in a pamplet as seen above. It was never officially canceled, because in Disney Advertising "Coming Soon" can mean a long time. Just bust out that original dumbo dvd for a coming soon preview of Dumbo II. The only date ever given was by the poster in the thread listed at the top. This caused a panic when it did not arrive on that date.

Some knowledgable people from the ultimate disney forums also frequent this board, and they are probably the best bet for earliest details on a release date. I have a pretty good working relationship with Disney/Buena Vista, and AFIK no street date has been set, other than 3rd-4th quarter 2006.

Thanks Calum. I decided to order the UK version ($22 delivered to the US from Amazon). I think the issue with the alternate ending and 9/11 might put off any US release for a while.
