Is the video any better on the LD version or this expected SE? ..I remember not being very impressed with the picture quality of this very dark movie.

I tracked down a Region 3 SE from Taiwan. Well its actually a "Chinese copy" DVD-9 I got in a Chinese shopping centre in Toronto. Released by Universal Anamorphic 2.35:1 DD 5.1.
Probably will be 100% same as the eventual US Release.. Transfer is fine, much much better than the non-anamorphic verison. The eventual North American release will probably be 100% the same as the Taiwan version. This disc was released by Universal with a new transfer. Not 100% but remember this movie was shot with Super 35 and is quite dark which usually means a grainy picture. This is the way the movie is shot. Get over it.

I have a R2 Japan transfer that's anamorphic. I would have to agree about that transfer. CanDVDfan...thanks for chiming in. I appreciate your comments even if others do not. |
