Can anyone that has purchased the set and received the uncut Threads episode disc in it tell me what is the UPC code on the set? I am having some problems with my set and I'm thinking of making the swap at Wal-Mart for hopefully the newer version. I purchased this at Sam's when it first dropped so I doubt they'll take it back.

Does the unedited have a different UPC? I figured they'd just quietly replace the one disc, keeping the old UPC

Damn it they both do have the same UPC code. Not sure what I will do now. This exchange program seems to be a pain in the ass.

Finally got my replacement, although the dvd case was cracked open and the disc was off it's hub. Luckily the disc surface only had a small mark on it that I was able to wipe off. This was good after the sinking feeling I had when I picked up the envelope out of my mailbox and heard it thud.

For clarification for people who are still unsure. To get my replacement disc, all I sent in was the printed form and the proof-of-purchase off the disc 5 insert. I guess this was a good thing since I now have to use the original unbroken dvd case for the new disc.

The wife and I just picked these up from DDD, and we've received one of the "Missing Stills" season fives. Anybody know how to get the replacement disc? We tried e-mailing Sony a few weeks ago, but haven't gotten a response.

I was never contacted and the disc just showed up in the mail one day. You are really not missing out on much. They send you a disc with the stills and nothing else on it.

So UPC 027616121882 is the new boxset?

And the old one also. Sorry, the UPC is the same on both the old box set and the one with the corrected disc in it. You can't tell from the UPC.

Pretty Sure all MGM emails reply with a autorespond saying to contact SONY directly. Also read on the SCIFI.com SG-1 board that the offer for the stills gallery is dead.

^Not without opening it and checking the length of the Threads episode, so far as I have heard. My impression is that most retailers with substantial turnover are selling the new version now.

Got my replacement yesterday. Unfortunately it was a floater and is nicely scratched. Now I have to figure out how to convince them to send me another replacement. What a PITA. :mad:

I just picked up season 8 during Best Buy's B1G1 free set sale. It has the longer version of "Threads" on it already.

How was the replacement DVD shipped? Post Office/UPS/FEDEX/DHL? I ask because there was no way to tell before sending in the information and because of my situation I had to use my PO box and street address by sending in 2 entries.

CheckMyRebate says both shipped 1/13. I used Photocopies of the UPC (cut them out and taped them to the order form) so if you don't want to damage your set, feel free to do that b/c it seems to have worked for me.

I plan on picking up some double amaray cases so that I can just put the 2 disc 5's together. It'll also help with the season 5 stills gallery and the Atlantis bonus disc that was included with season 7.

Its nice that they actually sent in a full case w/ the regular insert so that those that cut up their packaging have a replacement. Now I have 2 cases/inserts since I only photocopied my UPC when I sent in the replacement order.

Does it matter that i bought it after the 31/12 ? seems crappy that id have to miss out on the upgrade because I bought the defective disc late.

I sent mine off between Christmas and New Years. According to their website, my replacement disc was shipped on Jan 13th, so should be here soon.

I got an email from sony saying i only needed to send a photocopy of the barcode. Hopefully thats all they want as im not going to send the discs just incase it gets lost :).

Does the back of disc 5 still have the wrong approx time of 176 or did they update that on the fixed sets.

I purchased the set last week, and I received the 43 minutes THREADS episode. The rebate says the set must have been purchased by December 31. Am I going to have a problem exchanging the disc for the correct one?
