Also, I certainly remember that scene by the pool...but hadn't heard about it being left off the last DVD, or anything of the sort. What's the story behind that?

(Or given it some respect and not given it a stupid name at all.)

It would be awesome. There wouldn't even be room for the "Widescreen Collection" banner.

I would have named it after the line we used to quote in college:
Ferris Bueller's Day Off-"Rooney, Uuh!! I want to see you out there too. I wanna have a few word with you, by God!"-Edition.

Perhaps they couldn't use the Save Ferris SE name because of some legality/copyright infringement with the band, Save Ferris? *shrugs* dunno

I want the "Your ass is mine!" edition.
Oh yeah, just to add my pennies to the undressing by the pool scene, I can't say I remember ever seeing it. Just remember the dialogue referring to it happening.

Paramount decided to join in on the fun, so now we have the Tommy Boy: Holy Schnike Edition, the Longest Yard: Lockdown Edition, the Airplane!: Don't Call Me Shirley Edition, and this latest abomination. If the forthcoming Wedding Crashers: Uncorked Edition is any indication, New Line has apparently decided to commence this same program. When will this madness stop?!? What's next, Criterion releasing The Seven Samurai: My Sword's Bigger Than Yours Edition?

My 2 cents on the 'missing' scene discussion.
I did not see this movie in theaters, but saw it many times on non-premium cable TV back in the day.
I think I remember a scene of Cameron quickly shifting his eyes in reference to looking at a changing Sloane, but maybe that is in their discussion of it.
But I tend to think that if the scene existed their would be screencaps to find. This is a major movie and a supremely gorgeous actress. If there were scenes of her in her underwear they would be out there.
I believe this is a manufactured memory for many of us.

I hope Paramount takes Richard Roeper up on his offer to record a commentary track for this film (one of his favorites), but they probably won't.
