I find it hard to believe that they won't include this stuff on the normal release.

I've still never gotten through any of the bonus discs on LOTR EE, but after seeing that packaging, I'm sold. I can't imagine that Jackson, who seems to take a pretty active role in the DVDs of his films when he has the time, would later have this be part of the inevitable King Kong Special Editions. If anything, this will be a further supplement to whatever extras they come up with for King Kong on DVD.

Bah. Who cares? Like nobody nowdays doesn't know how they do a movie like this. $40, I'd rather spend that on the original, Son, and Mighty Joe Young box and have an enough for some popcorn. Jackson's KK will be like two years ago Hulk-big opening, dies fast.

Is it me or does anyone really want to see a CG ape?

I might sound negative, sorry, I'm really hoping this will be good, I do, but I'm not a Jackson fan and disagree with Uni.

It's always funny when people complain about a price, they always quote the MSRP. Amazon has it for $28. Not too bad a price, IMO.

It's funny, with the packaging I'm sold. I don't even know if it will be a good movie & here I am about to preorder this.

Not a bad price? You're not even getting the actual movie with the set. I guess I'm just not ga-ga enough for King Kong or special features. Whenever I have a choice for a movie, I choose to get the 2 disc set, so I have the special features if I want to watch them someday. But buying just special features for a movie that may or may not even be very good? Hmm...

Very cool. Problem is, this is part of the Post-Production Diaries. These will not be included in the Production Diaries 2-DVD set. They may get released on their own later though (I think that's fair to assume).

If it was just a couple discs then, yes, the price is high. Now if you look at the overall package, then it's worth it to me. But I'm a semi-collector so this shit is right up my alley.

If you're not excited about King Kong I can understand not giving a damn about this set. But some of us are and we're looking forward to getting this release. Peter Jackson is a fan of his fans so I know this won't disappoint.

A beautiful package, only it's missing Disc One: THE MOVIE!!!

It's a specialty item for the nuts. The rest of us will see the movie before the making-of.

*note: don't take that "nuts" too personally- I'm a nut for anything Kubrick and will happily admit that.

It just makes me crazy i guess that everyone bitches about cool packages and movie promo stuff in other regions and then everyone goes nuts when the charge criterion price for a killer set like this...

I hope the Movie SE is great as well, but only in addition to this.

Sold? Are you people out of your mind? The end is near when people start paying loads of money for movie-less DVDs.

I'll wait for the specs of the movie discs. If it doesn't look like this is included, I'm sure it could still be picked up.

What exactly will the repercussions be? I think the list of directors that can pull this off would be very very small.

I'll pick it up because:

1) I loved what Jackson did with the LotR EEs.

2) I'm a Kong fan that has faith that Jackson will be producing a great film.

Maybe we'll start seeing EPKs being sold to the general public. Look for them next to the magazine rack
