Diabolik also has the bluray for preorder (as Amazon does not, at the moment).

I really want the Steelbook, but I'll most likely end up getting the Blu-Ray for PQ.

where's there a SteelBook? that link says "Tin" which can mean so many things...

Very true

Just went by WEEDEDOUT mentioning it was a Steelbook :)

I don't see Severin putting the film out in a set similiar to the old AB tins, but I could stand corrected.

i wouldn't bet on it. it is most likely a tin with like postcards in it and stuff like that (with similar stuff from UK). i don't think SteelBooks are in vogue with the company any longer :(

Diabolik doesn't say "steelbook", here's their note:
Please note that it has been announced that the first 10,000 copies of the DVD will be in a Tin. Unfortunately, until the disc is released, we will have no idea how many copies of the Tin we will have available. The weight of the tin will likely affect the final shipping cost of your order especially for our International customers. Please keep this in mind when ordering in advance.
A similar note on HKFlix:
The first 10,000 copies will be available in a Limited Edition Tin. We cannot guarantee you will receive the tin until this product is in stock and you email us for confirmation before purchase. It should be safe to assume that pre-orders will receive the Tin, but we cannot guarantee this 100%.

Thanks! Saw the pre-order listing at Amazon earlier tonight and added it to my wishlist. I'll be monitoring prices for the next couple of months til the release date draws closer.

Just got an email from DVD Empire stating:

We have just been informed by the studio that the
release date for 'Hardware' has been changed
to 10-13-2009.

Do we know for sure that the Blu-ray (currently the cheaper of the 2 on amazon) will contain the same disc content as the limited ed 2-disc standard DVD? I'm guessing the kinda high MSRP may be due to a tin and some postcards?

OT: I've noticed Amazon's been doing this with a lot of pre-orders lately, although today the SD is $19.99. DVD Empire has the SD for $20.99 and the BD for $24.99 (both inc. shipping).

TWO WEEKS LATER: "We have just been informed by the studio that the release date for 'Hardware' has been changed
to 10-20-2009." At least it will happen at some point. Here's a cool video for those in anticipation:

Oh well. One week later doesn't annoy me.

Now it'll just be coming out the same day as Night Of The Creeps :)
