Quick "House, M.D." DVD question

I heard the DVD transfer wasn't in anamorphic, so I'll get the letterbox format while watching it on my HDTV?

That's what it will look right correct?

Nope. You'll get black bars on the side too.

Your picture looks like a 2.35:1 anamorphic displayed on a 1.78:1 screen.

unless you watch it stretched, and no bars (but crap quality) if you use the zoom mode.

But since WS fans scoff at FS fans over complaining about the black bars, no one should really mind. :-)

Use the Zoom mode and the picture will fill a 16:9 screen. Picture quality will be inferior to an anamorphic disc, however.

Should I wait for an anamorphic release in the future?

Heh ...I'm not too knowledgeable on the aspect ratios. Do you have a pic to show what the video would look like?

I was thinking of gettig this, missed it pretty much on TV, but did catch an episode the other night and thought it was pretty good, but without enhancement it is a no sale for me. At this point in DVD, that is just inexcusable.
