American Pie: Band Camp DVD specs

DVD specs for American Pie 4

In the last couple of days there's been a few big DVD announcements here in Howard-land, including the new super-duper edition of "Titanic" and also, "Batman Begins", but you know what we're about waste creamy space on? "American Pie : Band Camp" - and, well, it's all your fault. Yeah, you - dude with the Sherminator-fan site.

Had absolutely oodles and oodles of emails about this one - a straight to video offering that features only a couple of the original players - so I thought I best unleash this fresh specs. Saves us from re-answering the question in MailBag again, hey?

OK, "American Pie : Band Camp" hits stores here in Australia on October 26, and I believe is pencilled in for a release around the same time in Bush-ville (Ah, that's the U.S).

Extras on the DVD include "Shocking Strip Trivia", "Band Camp Dirty Diary", "Inside Stifler's Head" (extended scenes of what's going on inside Matt Stifler's head), "Stiflervision" (see the shots from different angles), "Outtakes" and a "Commentary Party", which, I assume, is fancy lettering for a chit-chat over the film.

This time, the movie centres on Stifler's younger brother, Matt, who is shipped off to Band Camp as a form of punishment. He gets up to his smutty ol' tricks there, but ultimately gets sorted out by a young woman. The only 'original' cast members returning are Eugene Levy, as Jim's Dad, and Chris Owen, as 'The Sherminator'.

Wow, this was a necessary sequel.

With the big box office business American Wedding did, I'm surprised they didn't try a theatrical release.

I'll probably pick this up just for Eugene Levy.

Makes sense that they didn't give it a theatrical release since none of the original stars returned (sans a couple cameos).

it looks like they could keep putting these out and use the "American Pie" moniker like they do with all the "National Lampoon" movies simply to capitalize on the two or so real good ones such as "Vacation" and "Animal House". it will bring the franchise down as a whole and become so laughable (and not in the good way).

I hope this finally answers the nagging questions from the original trilogy. Don't leave us hanging!

While extremly unessecary and completely wrong (since none of the originals are in it), I know I won't be able to help myself and I'll end up netflixing it.

The fact that Eugene Levy decided to be involved in this made me loose some respect points for him.

Well, Levy has the upcoming The Man, with Samuel L Jackson, which by the looks of the trailer, is making New York Minute look like Casablanca. Levy is a great comedian and a decent actor but his choice of roles has always been spotty.

I think Eugene Levy is really funny, but he is not exactly a huge star. I have no problem with him doing a film just for a paycheck (assuming that was his main reason for being in American Pie Episode IV: A New Pie).

Dear Lord, it's not even the same person playing Stifler's brother from part 2!

They can't get any of the good original characters (except for Eugene Levy) why even bother?

Why not do a theatrical release of American Baby? Or something like that? Wouldn't that be the "next step"?

Have you seen Dumb and Dumberer? Except for the fact that he was somewhat funny in it, I almost lost ALL respect for him.

Funny person. Bad film choices.

Despite my love for the series, not buying this unless I am tempted by the 5.50 bin or something. Probly rent it to see if it is the train wreck we imagine it will be.

I agree with the poster saying American Baby would be the next logical extension. I see potential in that if they can get the orginal cast back.
