I read somewhere that this re-release was canceled and no online retailer has it for pre-order. Still there is a review for it here:
http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=19047

Is this going to be released or not?

I believe it's just been pushed back to tie in with the release of the sequel.

This was the only movie that made me want to gouge my eyes out, take a shotgun, shoot the theater and projection, then burn the auditorium down.

It would be kind of hard to take aim and do all that after you gouged out your own eyes.

And making it out of a burning auditorium would be hell.

Anyone else think this would have been a little better with a digital Odie that matched more the look from the comic strip? Wouldn't have saved it, but the live action dog didn't feel right.

I never thought a 2-Disc Garfield would be released before a 2-Disc True Lies or a 2-Disc The Abyss (w/ 16x9 transfer).

There's this one guy on the HTF forum who is obsessed with this movie--it's so bizarre. This news will make his day for sure.

Maybe he's being ironic -- like this board's fascination with "Good Burger."

There is nothing ironic about our love of "Good Burger," it is a love for the ages.

Garfield dancing about the house didn't feel right, either. Isn't Garfield like...lazy? The main problem with the movie was that they didn't remain true to the original comic strip; they changed too much of what the characters were. As such, it didn't feel like the Garfield just about everyone knows.

I might of actually bought the DVD had Odie been done as a CGI character. The movie was far from stellar but I was a big Garfield collector when I was younger.

The only other thing that really threw me for a loop was I always figured Nermal was a girl and hearing a male voice from Nermal just blew my mind.

I already have the 2 disc set from the UK. I don't need the new edition.

I would just like to say that the cover art for this is about as perfect for artwork as you can get. I have never seen the film, may check this out eventually.

You know, I liked the first "Garfield" film. It wasn't great, but, hey, anything with Bill Murray is watchable...even "Where the Buffalo Roam". Hopefully, the sequel will be better, though.
