Late Shift ?

Was The Late Shift really released on 8/30? It doesn't appear to be in any of the B&M stores in my area and is not listed on Amazon. I have also not seen any DVD reviews. Basically, I have not seen any sign of an actual release other than an 8/30 release date on those online stores that actually have it listed.

I agree that I can't find it anywhere on Amazon's listings. However, I checked Warner's password-protected press site and it shows that the release date for The Late Shift on DVD is 8/30. No notices or markings indicating a delay. I'm not sure why you can't find it in your B&M stores. BestBuy.com shows in as being in stock, but perhaps they are only selling it online (more and more titles are not being stocked in-store by BB...dammit). Various e-tailers (DVDPlanet, DVDEmpire, DDD) all show it in-stock. Whatever the problem is, it's probably just related to the chains thinking of it as an obscure title (which I would disagree with compared to a lot of the other stuff they stock on shelves).

Mine arrived yesterday from the pre-order I placed months ago (based on the original May date) from DigitalEyes, and for under $6 shipped to boot!

Check your local Borders. My store got it in the shipment. Of course, now my store is underwater, but your local store should have it.

I just got my copy from DDD today. FYI: there is a real question about the OAR. I remember watching it in 1.33 on HBO, but the disc has been formated to 1:78. Some group scenes actually look better in widescreen (such as Letterman's first meeting with Ovitz,) but the tops of lots of heads are gone. I think we may have another Kung Fu: Season 1 here.
